He’s a mess…

Asher Knight has three constants in his life: music, beautiful women, and a bottle of Jack. He lives for the next gig, the next city, and dreams only of a life spent in front of an arena full of screaming fans. But Asher’s nomad ways come to a sudden stop when he learns he’s the father of a three-year-old from a past relationship and suddenly this rock star bad boy is forced to put down roots.

Only she can clean up

Gloria Shields is no one’s fool. Sure, the sexual chemistry between her and Asher has always been intense, but she’d never risk giving her heart to a man who has a perfect record for breaking them. Except the man desperate to make things right with his newfound son is nothing like the rock god she’s guarded her heart against for years. And it isn’t long before she starts to wonder if life with this bad boy might be the best thing that’s ever happened to her.

It’s been a bit of a sparks-flying on and off kind of relationship between Asher (rock god) and Gloria (badass publish) and things are about to get extra hot in the new Second Chance romance that’s all dedicated for these two!

Ash and Glo’s relationship have never been easy, but when Ash decided to move to Evergreen Cove to be close to his (recently discovered) 3 year old son, the close proximity really makes things a little difficult for Glo who’s determine to not fall for Ash again. Especially when he’s hell bent on winning her over.

Together, Ash and Glo are sizzling hot. They’ve got chemistry out the wazoo, but it’s working out the rest of the relationship that was the hard part. Complicated doesn’t even come close to describing their relationship.

“We fight when we drink whiskey.”
“That’s not all we do when we drink whiskey.”
His smile was penetrating. No. He was right about that. They also kissed. And hugged. Full body, no-clothing-necessary kind of hugs. The best kind.

I think I ended up loving Ash more than I thought. He’s got all the bad boy charm, but he’s also got a heck of a lot of cuteness, working hard to be a good dad and adopting adorable doggies and being all around good guy. He knows how to turn on the sexy, but also how to get under Glo’s skin and when to push her. He never gives up and that’s exactly what Glo need.

There’s nothing more ‘us’ than me pushing your boundaries.

Glo, for the most part I really liked her; she’s a fighter and I like that she finally opens up to not just Ash, but her friends in the end. But it was also like pulling teeth with her sometimes. We get to see more her backstory and I understand were the insecurities come from despite now being a successful businesswoman with a lot sass. With a very skittish Gloria, the story went a round in circles for a while.

Overall, it’s a fun, hot, spring read! Despite the bit of long winded journey, Glo and Ash really are perfect for each other. I loved that we still get to see a lot of the other Second Chance couples!

“I like that you see me. And I…you know.”

That shy look again. That was killing him.

“I…like you.”

“Good to know he smothered a laugh, but keeping the smile from his lips proved impossible.

“Like like” she was trying. God, He loved for it.

Five Reasons Women Love Bad Boys By Jessica Lemmon

Oh, the bad boy. Who doesn’t love a guy in black leather, with a wicked curve to his smile, and a gleam in his eye that says, “Come on, baby, let’s get into trouble.”?

I never knew I was the bad boy type…until I started writing them. Now I can’t get enough. What’s beautiful about bad boys is there is a wide range. From down and dirty to hard and gritty to the kind of bad boy I love to write the most: the sweet heat.

You know the type. The kind of guy who is a good family man at heart, but won’t hesitate to toss his woman over his knee. The man who is loyal to his friends, but still takes physical risks that put him in danger. From billionaires, to ex-military landscapers, to rock stars, I’ve written many, many bad boys. And I’m not stopping any time soon.

Here are my top five reasons women like you (and me!) love bad boys. I’ve also included a few of my bad boys as recommendations. Which one is for you?

1) Bad Boys know who they are. They may be jerks, but they know they are and aren’t afraid to be that way. The key to any successful pairing with a bad boy is to find a heroine who challenges him. Bad boys don’t shy away from challenge. They take it on. See: Fighting for Devlin

2) Bad Boys are confident in the sack. Because they have had so much *ahem* experience in the bedroom, the woman who lands a bad boy is going to find he’s pretty darn good at what he does in there. He knows how to please her, and because of a stubborn streak a mile wide, he’s not going to stop until he does. See: Bringing Home the Bad Boy

3) Bad Boys are unpredictable. The girl of his dreams probably dated some schmoe before she dated him, and that guy likely ironed his socks. Meanwhile, her new bad boy beau is telling her to pack a bag because he has a surprise for her, and he’s not going to tell her what it is. See: A Bad Boy for Christmas

4) Bad Boys are loyal. He won’t abandon his true friends, or a family that’s done him right. While bad boys often run from what’s hurting them, they still have a network of friends they will never cut out of their lives. See: Rescuing the Bad Boy

5) Bad Boys love endlessly. Once you win a bad boy’s heart, he’s not going anywhere. He values the love of a good woman the way he values a shot of the best whiskey: through to his soul. Bag one of these boys and you’ll experience a lifetime of love and loyalty, and a healthy dose of toe-curling unpredictability. See: Return of the Bad Boy

The door swung open and Asher stood on the other side of it, all tall, dark, and sexy wearing a dark gray tank. His tattoos were on display, his torn-at-the-knee jeans slung low and fitting in all the right places. As usual, his wrists were adorned with hemp and leather bracelets, but he only wore a few rings today. Both on his left hand—the hand holding the phone.

He tipped his head, motioning for her to come in, glancing away before she had time to really get pegged by those bourbon-colored eyes. Phew.

“Yeah. I can handle it,” he said into the phone. He strode away from her, barefoot, pant legs frayed, and Gloria’s heart clutched. She hated her heart sometimes. Sure, she appreciated

the whole “stay beating so I can live” thing, but where Asher Knight was concerned, her heart veered from its routine and decided to take up tap dancing instead. It was his gelled, sort of shaggy hair and the lazy way his eyes never opened all the way. It was the cross inked on his left arm and his who-gives-a-fuck style.

It was him. All of him.

She’d just have to learn to deal with her hectic-patterned heart because she was here to drop off a check and that was it. There wasn’t any other reason for her to hang out in his house. Especially while he looked so—

He leaned on his kitchen island and she enjoyed the way his jeans showed off his ass. The way he crossed one bare foot over the other. The way he propped his chin on his palm and carried on his conversation…What had she been saying?

Oh, right. Yummy. She’d just have to learn to deal with him looking yummy. It was a fact of life. Like the weather. It was eighty-eight degrees and only nine a.m. and there wasn’t a thing she could do but endure it. She’d have to do the same with him.
