Her Mysterious Past Is The Best Revenge…

Fallon, the Marchioness of Mystery, is a celebrated courtesan with her finger on the pulse of high society. She’s adored by men, hated by their wives. No one knows anything about her past, and she plans to keep it that way.

Only He Can Offer Her A Dazzling Future…

Warrick Fitzhugh will do anything to protect his compatriots in the Foreign Office, including seduce Fallon, who he thinks can lead him to the deadliest crime lord in London. He knows he’s putting his life on the line…

To Warrick’s shock, Fallon is not who he thinks she is, and the secrets she’s keeping are exactly what make her his heart’s desire…

Review:

This is was quick read for me while I was in Singapore one night while we were waiting for the downpour of rain to slow enough so we weren’t absolutely drenched. The rain was actually really nice because it cooled everything off (:

On to the book. This is the second book in the series Jewels of the Ton featuring Fallon, the Marchioness of Mystery and Warrick Fitzhugh of the Foreign Office. Naturally there is a spy/mystery plot that includes mistaken identities, hidden identities and a whole lot of secrets.

This is what I get for waiting too long to write the review, I tend to forget stuff especially if it’s not that memorable. The overall book was pretty good but the romance and the plot was pretty typical. Galen’s storyline with Warrick’s Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is interesting and I’ve only read a few other historical romance that have touched on it. Sometimes the obstacles between HR couples are a little ridiculous but PTSD is an issue that can truly keep a couple apart, so to see a couple overcome that to be together is always nice.

THE FOOD:

IMG_2131Rice with curried beef

From: Dutch Harbour Cafe, Melaka, Malaysia

My friend and I  loved the Dutch Harbour Cafe so much we went back for supper! The people who worked there were so sweet! I unfortunately can’t remember the exact name of this meal but it was a nice simple rice and curried beef with some fried fish chips.

IMG_1750Lemon and Herb Peri Peri Chicken with fries and garlic bread

From: Nando’s, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Ooh, my first try at Nando’s. I guess it’s a pretty big chain restaurant but I’ve never heard of it before until I was in KL. The chicken was pretty good, though I still don’t know what Peri Peri is haha.

IMG_1780Squid Tempura

From: D’khas Cafe. Langkawi, Malaysia.

This was a dish recommended on the menu a D’khas cafe and of course how can I resist having some sort of seafood dish with the ocean near by. It was pretty darn yummy calamari.

Pattaya Fried Rice

From: D’khas Cafe. Langkawi, Malaysia.

Back to D’khas for breakfast! It’s fried rice wrapped inside an omelette! Yum! The sauce on top isn’t ketchup but a sweet chili sauce. It reminds me the Japanese omirice and just as delicious.

Taiwanese Claypot Chicken

From: Putumayo. Langkawi, Malaysia.

Putumayo was a cute but kind of expensive restaurant. It wasn’t bad (claypot always bring out the flavours so well) but I think I should just stick to the cheap, delicious hawker food haha.
