Cover Reveal: Cress, Panic, & Harry Potter

Cover Reveal

I don’t usually bother with cover reveals too much but in this last little while there’s been some covers I’ve been dying to see and some new Harry Power covers too! I’m sure many of  you guys have seen these already but tell me what you think of the covers! Yay or nay?

Cress by Marissa Meyer

Cress - Marissa MeyerI’m a kind of sitting on the fence with this one. Sometimes I think it’s quite pretty, other times, it seems a little dull (???). I not even sure what it is that I dislike about it aha. I do love the incorporation of red into the cover though keeping in theme with the rest of the series. Maybe I was expecting more flowing hair in the wind business or something haha… speaking of which:

There’s been a lot of “hair” covers lately haha but I still do like this one. It’s probably the nice contrast between the blonde hair and black background. I’m unsure of how the cover matches up the story though. I mean, I guess when I’m in a panic my hair does get a little wild… Oh, and this cover reminds me of Lauren Oliver’s other standalone book Before I Fall (which was a great book!), (Okay so I just looked up the cover again, to add the link and now that I’m looking at it again, it’s more like…the opposite of Panic…?  I don’t know what I was thinking haha.)

And of course the reveal of the new Harry Potter Covers by artist Kazu Kibuishi!

Personally I think these original covers will always be my favourite. But the thing I like about these ones is the colouring. The details put into the cover is nice too and I really like the typography of the lighting bolt Harry Potter with the simple font of  the title. I wouldn’t mind having this box set on my shelf! haha
