In My Mailbox post! Hosted by The Story Siren, In My Mailbox is a chance to showcase new books, ones checked out from the library, bought, won or received for review. All summaries taken from either Goodreads or Amazon.
So this week, I have a couple books that I bought, a couple from the library, and a couple for Netgalley (:
(01) The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede
One of my most favouritest book series ever! Finally got around to buying this since my friends gave me a giftcard to Indigo and what’s a better to spend it than a series a love. It’s utterly fantastic and I’m thinking it’s time for I re-read of it soon!
(02) Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami
My first and favourite read of Murakami’s. I read it while in Japan and absolutely loved it. I have read a bunch of his other stuff but nothing beats this one. It’s crazy (good)! Bought this along with The Enchanted Forest Chronicle as a birthday persent to myself (from my friends giftcard haha)
(03)Hemlock by Kathleen Peacock
A new-ish kinda of dystopian YA that I haven’t gotten the chance to read it. The premise looks interesting and people seem to really enjoy it. Also the cover looks very pretty. I have a couple weeks before I need to return it, so hopefully I can to reading it soon!
(o4) Princess Academy by Shannon Hale
I’m just still the the mood for fairy tales and happy endings so this looks like the perfect book for a quick fix.
eBooks (thanks to Netgalley)
(05) Snow Whyte and the Queen of Mayhem by Melissa Lemon
This was my WoW not too long ago, so definitely glad I got a copy from Netgalley! Also fits right in with my fairy tale fix. Can’t wait!
(06) Fifty Shades of Mr. Darcy: A parody by William Codpiece Thwackery
I couldn’t resist. While I haven’t ever read 50 Shades of Grey, I feel like I know enough to enjoy a parody, especially mixed with Pride and Prejudice! I actually finished this already. It’s kind of a gong show, but pretty funny.
