Hi guys, welcome to Book Munchies’ Musing about Things: A Discussion (Post). Inspired by memes such as Books and a Beat‘s Musing Monday & Caffeinated Book Reviewer‘s Caffeinated Confessions (etc.), this is a Book Munchies discussion post, where I’ll be rambling about (mostly) book-related things and hopefully you guys will join in on the fun too (:
So today’s topic is: An Updated from Cyn!
Ahoy all! I feel like it’s been ages since I’ve got to chat with everyone. As you may or may not know I’ve been in grad school the last two years and it’s been pretty busy. Thankfully Jackie has been awesome and taking over Sunday Post for me (where I usually would chat about books and life).
Well this last month I finally finished school foreveeeeer!
I still need to job hunt, but as of right now, I’m enjoying my time off.
Anyways, the last little while I was lucky enough to go some fun trips (for leisure and for school), and I wanted to share some pictures (:
So back in June I went to Halifax and I loved loved loved it. The East Coast is so lovely. I loved all the colourful building and the delicious fresh seafood and the oceaaaan!
Than late June, I ran off to New Orleans ♥ It was crazy hot for me (like I was sweating buckets er’day) but I loved it so much there! The culture was definitely different than prairie Canada. I loved checking out all the music scenes on Frenchmen St. and Bourbon St. and oh man did I indulge in the foooood. The oh sooo amazing food. I’m so sad I didn’t have time to eat everything I wanted to eat.
I even was there to celebrate the 4th of July which was pretty cool.
And my last trip was to Indonesia. I spent a week “on holidays” in Bali. It was also super hot. But oh so beautiful!
After that I headed to Solo on Java to do a 7 week practicum with two of my classmates that also went. It was really interesting living in a culture so very very different than Canada. I stayed in a home-stay with a family which was really nice and we made friends with the local students and they help made sure we got to really experience Indonesia (: We also spend a bit of time in a beach town and when to Jakarta at the end of the trip for some tourist fun!
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed the photos! Let me know if you have questions about the photos or want to see more!
I did manage to get a bunch of reading in during my Indonesia trip which was nice while at the beach or pool side (or at home) (: I finally read The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson and The Winner’s Kiss by Marie Rutkoski which have been on my TBR for a while. Overall read about 10 books on the trip.
Let me know what you’ve been up all summer (or winter)! Did you relax at home or go on a trip! What books did you take with you?
I’m back with a bit more time now so I’m going to try to catch up on more comments and etc. (I know I haven’t been doing the greatest job). Happy December!
a bum a student again. A master’s student…oooh. procrastinator. reader. eater. sleeper. music listen-er. movie go-er. Loves food too much.
