'Tis the Season to Be Naughty
Connor McClain knows what he wants. And after four harrowing years in Afghanistan, that's a quiet life in the lakeside town of Evergreen Cove. But coming home has land mines of its own-the most dangerous of them being long-legged bombshell Faith Garrett. Now getting her into his arms this holiday is going to require more than mistletoe . . .
With a cheating ex behind her, all Faith wants is a relaxing holiday free from man drama. And even though every moment with gorgeous Connor is a sweet temptation, Faith is determined not to give in. But Jack Frost has other plans, and soon Faith and Connor are snowbound in a winter wonderland with only the sparks flying between them to keep them warm. As one hot kiss leads to another, they'll have to decide if they're ready to give each other the best gift of all-love.
"Everything I love in a romance."--- Lori Foster, 2014
“Afternoon, Cupcake.” […]
“Good afternoon to you, Beefcake.”
I need a Connor.
This is my first Jessica Lemmon and it will definitely not be my last. I know I skipped to book 3 (I swear I’m going to go back and read 1 and 2!) but I was in desperate need for an adorably awesome Christmas romance and this was everything I wanted (I original read this during the peak of Christmas spirit last year, haha)!
I seriously loved Connor and Faith, they’re soooooo freaking cute. Great characters, great dynamic. And seriously, who doesn’t love a bad boy, who’s actually the most fantastic man, ev’r.
Her friend’s eyes grew warm. “He cut you down a tree?”
She lifted a shoulder and dropped it. “Yeah.”
“Oh my gosh.” Sofie’s eyes were wide. “He likes you.”
The wintery Christmas setting was lovely and the sizzling chemistry between Connor and Faith meant adorable moments and steamy nights.
“Because I won’t go away you can’t watch your holiday fluff?” A smirk curved the corner of his lip.
She kissed it. “Right.”
“Okay, Cupcake. But if I get bored, we get to make out during.”
And so much fooooood. Cupcakes (of course), cinnamon buns, devil dogs, nom nom nom!
It was still snowing, and blowing. Blustery, frigid weather and he’d gone out and chopped down a freaking tree. That said, she couldn’t stop the smile from lighting her face. He went outside. And cut down a tree. For her.
“Yeah, I know how you feel about dessert, Cupcake,” He licked his lips and winked, and for a second their little dinner felt a whole lot like a date.
“Now I know you’re an overly confident, broad-chested man with a great ass,” she teased.
He shook his head in warning, his tentative smile widening.
“You are also the man of my dreams.” Her grin faded, done teasing. “The man who let me in and taught me how to be brave. Like you.”
