Welcome to Really Really Short Reviews were the name is long and the reviews are short! Because sometimes short is that much sweeter. (Also, because I’m really lazy!) And there might be quotes too (lots and lots)! (Because everyone loves quotes, right?)

Dina DeMille doesn’t run your typical Bed and Breakfast. Her inn defies laws of physics, her fluffy dog is secretly a monster, and the only paying guest is a former Galactic tyrant with a price on her head. But the inn needs guests to thrive, and guests have been scarce, so when an Arbitrator shows up at Dina's door and asks her to host a peace summit between three warring species, she jumps on the chance.
Unfortunately, for Dina, keeping the peace between Space Vampires, the Hope-Crushing Horde, and the devious Merchants of Baha-char is much easier said than done. On top of keeping her guests from murdering each other, she must find a chef, remodel the inn...and risk everything, even her life, to save the man she might fall in love with. But then it's all in the day's work for an Innkeeper…

Review:

While it didn’t quite live up to the love I had for Clean Sweep, Sweep in Peace (love the name, ha) was a fun read with the humour I love.

“What are you planning?” I asked, as we turned toward the grand ballroom.

“Just a small demonstration for the public good,” he said. “I am so sorry.”

“You’re apologizing in advance.”

“Yes.”

Never a good sign.

It was a nice addition to the series that takes us back to the Inn with Dina and her one guest Caldenia. That is until someone decides it’s a good idea to hold a peace summit there and of course chaos ensues. I love that Dina (and Caldenia) is still as badass and sassy as ever.

Caldenia blinked. “Who are the attending parties?”

“The Holy Anocracy represented by House Krahr, the Hope-crushing Horde, and the Merchants of Baha-char. They coming here for Arbitration and they will probably try to murder each other the moment they walk through the door.”

Caldenia’s eyes widened. “Do you really think so? This is absolutely marvelous!”

She would think so, wouldn’t she?

And there’s some new characters at the Inn, which is always lovely.

My future chef was an oversized, hysterical hedgehog with a martyr complex.

The biggest down fall for me was there was not enough Sean (and Dina banter). boo. I neeeed to them.

“I asked him if he was leaving anyone behind. He said he met a girl with stardust on her robe, and when he looked into her eyes, he saw the Universe looking back.”

/ah sigh.

  1. I had fun with this one and parts of it cracked me up. I adore this writing team and I’m working on the Edge series on audio now.

    1. I definitely need to get back to the Edge series!
