Juliette now knows she may be the only one who can stop the Reestablishment. But to take them down, she’ll need the help of the one person she never thought she could trust: Warner. And as they work together, Juliette will discover that everything she thought she knew – about Warner, her abilities, and even Adam – was wrong.
This book was definitely one for reader’s like me, a fan of Warner. Admittedly, I was hesitant when I started this book. Unravel Me left me loving Warner and Kenji, worried for Juliette (even as I found her annoying), and ambivalent to Adam. But Ms. Mafi delivered with Ignite Me. Boy, did she deliver.
Juliette is finally growing into that potential of all she could be, the Juliette we thought we’d get at the end of Shatter Me. Warner is still lovely, but readers are able to love him for more than just his beautiful love of Juliette. He grows as a character for us as he is slowly able to show these secret, vulnerable sides of himself to Juliette. Adam is a jerk, but we already knew that after Fracture Me.
The story comes to a climax in this book when we find Juliette wavering between her feelings for Warner and her desire to kill Anderson and do away with the Reestablishment. Featuring Ms. Mafi’s gorgeous writing, Ignite Me shows this wonderful balance between the romance, the drama, and the action. This was a great YA dystopian series, and definitely a recommended read for anyone enjoys beautiful prose, an epic romance, and that fight for human rights.
