Review: Legendary Playboy Surgeon by Alison Roberts

Rating: of 5 stars

Connor Matthews has to be the only surgeon ever to ride his motorbike into the E.R.! And Dr. Kate Graham is determined to disapprove, even if it made a sick little boy’s dream come true.

Connor’s love-’em-and-leave-’em reputation is hospital legend, so Kate’s steering well clear. Although, Connor’s sinful sexiness is coming critically close to cracking the shield around Kate’s fragile heart….

A standard Harlequin novel, you have your misunderstood playboy with a heart of gold, and then there’s the frigid coworker who’s more than her precise exterior makes her out to be.

The trauma that Kate has suffered is slowly revealed. But that works in the story’s best interest. It keeps me reading on, hoping to discover why such a nice girl could end up as she did. Which is likely the effect the author was going for with the slow coming reveal.

There’s not much to say. When you pick up a Harlequin novel like this, you know what you’re signing up for. A quick, but heart-warming romance. The end is a bit rushed but that’s due to the constraints of the size of the publication more than the author’s abilities. The build up of the relationship is well paced and Roberts certainly does a good job creating these characters.
