To say that Sophie Bloom is at the top of her game with one only week until spring equinox and the final showdown with Zeus and Hades would be, well, lying. The Goddess of Spring feels more like the Goddess of Bzz Thanks For Playing than the savior of humanity. And could her relationships be any more messed up?

Good times.

Sophie is convinced that things can’t get any worse than crawling back to her mother Demeter and begging for help. But she’s about to find out how very wrong she is.

It’s a race against time for Sophie to implement the big battle strategy in the YA romantic comedy/Greek mythology finale My Life From Hell. Love meets comedy with a whole lot of sass in book three of this teen fantasy romance series. Save herself; save the world. Humanity may be screwed.

So it’s the Ultimate Showdown for the Blooming Goddess Trilogy!

Okay…so not quite this Ultimate Showdown.

And I must say I’m a little sad to see it end. I just love all the characters so much! If you don’t know by now, this series a mythology retelling and Sophie is the goddess Persephone! In the big epic conclusion, Sophie & Kai (The Prince of the Underworld) , along with a few other Gods and Titans, has to try to save humanity from Zeus and Hades.

The book is a bit more dramatic than the first two, but it’s expected with the world on the line. Sophie and Kai still have to work out their relationship and Sophie/Persephone has some major mother issues with Demeter/Felicia. We also get more interactions with the gods and goddesses, get to hang out in the underworld and there’s some revertigo, too.

The fun thing with this book is we’re still seeing the awesome friendship between Sophie, Theo and Fe. I just love them. There’s definitely some heartfelt moments. Also, I still love Sophie and Kai, too, despite the their up and down relationship. You just know they love each other, and I can’t help rooting for them. I did find some parts of the book a bit draggy and I think book 2 (My Date from Hell) is my favourite simply because it’s a bit more fluffy compared to this one, where the conflict is a bit more serious.

Overall, a lovely conclusion that wraps up things nicely. It’s still full of fun references, hilarious shenanigans, cute romance, and big action that’s all wrapped up in a blanket of poignancy. We get to see Sophie become the goddess she is, and she does a pretty good job.
