Her first thought: “Who are you?”

It’s the morning after her cousin’s bachelorette party in Vegas and Megan Scott wakes up with the mother of all hangovers. Even worse, she’s in a stranger’s penthouse having woken up with something else as well—a funny, arrogant, sexy…husband!

Up until now, finding even a boyfriend had seemed impossible—been there, got the broken heart, sworn off men for good. Then a few martinis with Carter…no, Connor Reed and she’s gone from first meet to marriage in one night!

Megan wants a lawyer. But Connor’s shocking bombshell?

“I don’t want a divorce.”

Review:

So this book is part of the new contemporary romance series by from Harlequin that is suppose to be “New Adult” from which I got is sort of new age adult of a mix of young adult and normal adult haha. It’s actually what this book really is to me. It has the fun, light, fluffy flirtiness of YA but also a touch of the adult steamy and slightly more serious.

I wanted to read this book because the title kind of reminded of historical romances “marriages of convenience” and funny enough, this actually was! For Connor and Megan, it was definitely attraction-at-first-sight and not about love, hell even Connor who doesn’t want the divorce admits it’s not about love. For him, it’s about having a wife that he can show affection for and be in a content relationship without the worry of love (and therefore extreme emotions) mucking up the relationship (both have seen/experience some crappy “love”), but Megan isn’t so sure. So (too-perfect) Connor sets out to make his wife, truly his wife. It’s pretty cute watching Connor try to win Megan but of course we all know that as soon as love creeps up, all just goes to hell in a handbasket (I’m really liking this saying!). That’s the part that annoyed me  about book (angsty hypocritical males [or females actually], brooding is okay sometimes but know your timing man)because as the reader we see that one coming a mile away and I just don’t have patients for that.

Besides that however! despite it being a bit predictable, I enjoy Connor and Megan as a couple and the book was entertain read still. It’s a nice short dose of cute, lighthearted romance.

  1. I am saving this for when I am in the mood for cute and predictable 🙂

  2. I’m about halfway through and I’m not sure I can make myself finish. It’s getting to be too typical for me. Though, I agree, Connor and Megan can be pretty cute.
