Romantic Tuesday Review: Dash of Peril by Lori Foster

Romantic Thur & TueIt’s Romantic Thursday Tuesday with Bookmunchies! So what is Romantic Tuesday you ask!? The same as Romantic Thursday, but now with the added being on Tuesday too.

So why is Thursday ( & Tuesday) romantic? Because I like Thursday (& Tuesday) and I like romance! Basically, I just love romance, in YA books, in adult, contemporary, historical, whichever the genre and sometimes I’m too lazy to write full reviews but I do love sharing fun quotes or just gushing about characters. So that’s what Romantic Thursday is for! To share my love. May it be through actual full reviews, quick reviews, or just fun quotes.

A no-nonsense female cop reluctantly teams up with the one man who makes her lose control in a deliciously sensual new novel from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster…

To bring down a sleazy abduction ring, Lieutenant Margaret “Margo” Peterson has set herself up as bait. But recruiting Dashiel Riske as her unofficial partner is a whole other kind of danger. Dash is 6’4″ of laid-back masculine charm, a man who loves life—and women—to the limit. Until Margo is threatened, and he reveals a dark side that may just match her own.

Beneath Margo’s tough facade is a slow-burning sexiness that drives Dash crazy. The only way to finish this case is to work together side by side…skin to skin. And as their mission takes a lethal turn, he’ll have to prove he’s all the man she needs—in all the ways that matter.

So the awesome thing with Lori Foster’s series is if you’ve read the other books, you already get to sort of know the characters. We’ve been teased for a bit with the Dash and Margo, so it’s nice to see them get their happy endings Also, it’s always nice to get a visit from old characters too! (AKA. Yes, there is more Rowdy in this book).

Lieutenant Margaret “Margo” Peterson doesn’t have time for love and relationship, especially since undercover to try to bust some criminals for abducting women and forcing them to do pornography. But somehow Dash works his way into helping her solve the crime and into her heart. The book, like it’s predecessors, is full of  suspense and action, thought I did feel with this one, there was a stronger focus on the romance. On top of the porn ring, is Margo’s family issue with her father, that might just run deeper than anyone expected.

So our titular Dash is our hero in the book and man does he know how make a girl swoon. I love the chemistry between him and Margo in the book. I mean, talk about foreplay.

And when they are finally together, you know it’s deeper than just some sexual tension and attraction. I liked that Dash loved ever part of Margo.

“I love seeing you all warm and aroused, waiting for me to take care of you. But I love it when your cocky like you were today with that idiot in the truck. Much as it scared me, it also impressed me.” He grinned at her. “I even like it when you’re all prickly, giving me a hard time.”

Dash really keeps Margo on her toes and gets her to embrace all her facets of her personality. My only complaint is…well can you complain that the hero is too perfect? Dash was pretty wonderful and he really helped Margo, but it seemed like he didn’t get much of his own story. That being said, I still really like Dash.

Like I mentioned, I love seeing older characters. It was definitely fun to see more of Logan and Reese and how their dynamic with Margo changed in this book, as she started to accept her more feminine side, and them having to change their perception of their boss. And of course, there was a bit more Rowdy, which is bonus! He’s still pretty awesome. Also, the suspense plot gave us more time with Cannon too, which is always a win. He’s getting his own series,, and I’m definitely excited for that!

Overall, Dash and Margo really know how to bring the heat and  it was sizzling & suspenseful read. Dash of Peril was an enjoyable addition to the Love Undercover series.
