Sunday Post (157) / Stacking the Shelves (137)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

It’s slowly starting to become spring and I’m not sure if I’m liking that because that means it’ll soon be summer and summers in SoCal seem never ending (especially since it’s always nothing but sunshine). I love seeing the pretty pink flowers blooming at work though. They’re not quite cherry blossoms, but when you come in through one end of the street it does look like they’re cherry blossoms and I like to imagine that they are cherry blossoms. But, the good news is we’re finally getting rain this weekend and I’m actually looking forward to staying in and read the day away.

  1. Enjoy your haul! These are all new to me. Thanks for sharing…

    1. Thank you. I hope you get a chance to read them sometimes.

  2. The Red Queen keeps tempting me! It looks good. I’m looking forward to warmer weather here too though ours isn’t quite as ideal as So Cal!

    1. I hope you have better luck with Red Queen than I did if you ever get the chance to read it.

I know what you mean about the warmer weather we are having here in Southern California right now. Warm weather now makes me think summer will be very hot . . . I do love seeing my trees beginning to bloom though–the one in our front yard has pretty light purple blossoms at the moment.

I hope you enjoy your new books. Have a great week!

    1. Ooh I hope it won’t be a very hot summer this year, but I guess it’e better to be hot than cold. That sounds very pretty.

  4. One of the things of Spring/Summer that I love, the flowers that will start to bloom again. Hope you were able to stay in this weekend and read.

I’ve been seeing a lot of people not enjoying Glass Sword. Hmm.

Oh, wow, you aren’t a fan of Victoria Aveyard! I’m curious to see why! Also, I’m from SoCal too! I’m definitely enjoying this rain were having today 🙂

  6. It’s been nice here too and i am excited for the nice weather. Summer here is torture so Spring is def my favorite!

I got Blackhearts a few weeks ago and I am excited to read it, too! Have a great week!

  7. We’re getting rain in the middle of this coming week. When I walked outside this morning, I could feel it and smell it in the air. I think we are still technically in a drought, so it’ll be good! There’s a tree next to my parents’ house whose blooms look like cherry blossoms, but I know they’re not. I got some photos a few years ago. They are so pretty!

  8. Sad to hear you didn’t really enjoy Glass Sword. I bought it, but have been kind of waiting to read it. We have had it so dry here, we need the rain that they say we might get tonight here. I loved Blackhearts, hope you enjoy it as well!
    Check out my Sunday Post

  9. Looks like you have had a good week!! And what a fun haul of books you have. Hope you enjoy. Happy Monday!!

  10. I absolutely love spring and summer, but we’re going into Autumn now in the Southern hemisphere. It isn’t my favourite, but at least it’s not winter yet! I’m so glad you loved TFL, I absolutely loved that trilogy!
