Sunday Post (184) / Stacking the Shelves (164)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

You know when it’s fall when Starbucks brings back the Pumpkin Spice Latte to their menu. I don’t get the hype for Pumpkin Spice Latte. I tried the drink once out of curiosity but it was just ehh okay to me. Though pumpkins aren’t essentially my [fall] favorite thing. It’s funny because I never associated pumpkin with fall until a few years ago. For me, I always think of apples whenever fall arrives. The only thing I associated pumpkins with is Halloween, but nowadays I guess because of this pumpkin spiced hype pumpkins are now considered a fall thing. But, I don’t know…anyways this week we’re playing catch up at work because of the Labor Day holiday. I’m always surprised that we always catch up with everything by the end of the week.

  1. Nice! I also just pre-ordered Crooked Kingdom and Heartless! Hope they live up to the hype!

    1. Yay! I hope so too.

  2. I bet I will be seeing a lot of Crooked Kingdom this week! Have a great week. 🙂

  3. I don’t drink Starbucks. I don’t drink coffee so I don’t quite get any of the hype. I do like to light candles with fall scents during this time, though. (It’s also cool enough to do so!) I wonder why you associate apples with fall?

  4. My mother loves all things pumpkin. I like pumpkin pie, but am not a big fan of most other promotional items.

So glad to hear about your husband’s cousin, and that Mouse is settling in. The Invisible Library sounds so good; I look forward to reading what you think of it.

    Sunday Summary #19

  5. I need to finish reading the new Harry Potter book, I’ve enjoyed what I’ve read of it so far! I think I gave Future Perfect a similar rating, it wasn’t quite what I’d expected and didn’t live up to my hopes. Hope you have a great week!
    Check out my Sunday Post

  6. Ahhh that’s so exciting that you have preordered Crooked Kingdom and HEartless! I’m waiting for my duology box set to arrive. I loved all the Pumpkin flavoured stuff when I was in the US! We don’t really have much of that here.
