Sunday Post (200) / Stacking the Shelves (180)

sundaypostThe Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! The week between Christmas and New Year is always a bit of a lull and long. Whatever happened on Monday somehow ended up being like a dream that maybe happened. Hopefully this week will go by quicker. To those who are watching the Rose Parade tomorrow in person I hope you guys bring lots of blankets, wear tons of layers, remember to pack an umbrella. I heard it was going to be a bit wet. Has anyone made their 2017 goals/resolutions yet? I’m still thinking about mine but a couple on my list are stuff like read more adult fiction (and not just the almost book to movie adaptation ones; I’ve been trying to read more books that’s just not YA), stop being afraid to try knitting new things (the perfectionist in me drives me crazy), travel more (I have plans to go back to Japan in the spring and maybe a trip to Ireland or Scotland…those are up in the air, but definitely Japan), and also to finish reading series I started but never finished.

No book haul this week. I was planning on borrowing a couple of books but I like starting the new year on a clean slate.

  1. Starting the new year on a clean slate is a great idea. Happy New Year!

    1. Happy New Year!

  2. Happy New year! I have set some new reading and blogging goals. I already started implementing some of them several weeks ago so I’m getting a routine going before I add new things. I especially want to work on my TBR and take in less review books. Hard to do though when those shiny new reads come knocking. LOL

    1. Happy New Year! Good luck with your goals.

  3. I’m also trying to read more adult fiction! And I do LOOOVE book to movie adaptation 🙂 OH I hope you do get to go to Japan! On my bucket list too 🙂 Happy New Year Ja

    1. Thank you. I like some book to movie adaptation novels, but I tend to avoid those for some reason. Happy New Year!

    1. Happy New Year!

  4. You should think about joining the 2017 Series Enders Reading Challenge as motivation to finish some of those series. You get an entry into two giveaways (for the month and year) each time you link up a review to a series ender. Even one book is progress and qualifies you. Hope you’ll consider it! Good luck on your other goals!

    1. Sounds fun. I’ll look into it. Thank you.

  5. I am still considering my resolutions. Traveling sounds wonderful! I look forward to your photos! Happy 2017!

    1. Thank you. Happy New Year!

  6. Love the list for next week’s blog titles. Also, knitting-if you have a local yarn store they can be an amazing resource for when your perfectionist tendancies take over!

    1. I’ve thought of that, but I’m usually a bit shy asking them questions about techniques. Thanks for the advice.

  7. YAY go back to Japan! I’m currently in Kyoto and having a blast. 😁

    1. I hope you’re having an amazing time in Kyoto and eating all the delicious food.

  8. Happy new year Jackie! I haven’t heard of the rose parade before but I hope you had heaps of fun!

    1. Happy New Year Jeann. The rose parade happens every year and it’s really nice seeing the amazing work people put into these floats.
