Sunday Post (201) / Stacking the Shelves (181)

sundaypostThe Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

The first week of 2017 has ended and it’s been raining on and off all week here in SoCal. I’m not sure how to feel about it, but I do like that the rain clears up when we wake up. Which is ideal weather because at least you don’t have to get wet when you’re running errands or going to work. Speaking of work, it was a pretty busy work week but it wasn’t too bad that we didn’t have a chance to relax for a bit. I’ve also caught up with the recent Doctor Who episode – the Return of Doctor Mysterio – and I think I kind of liked it. It was a bit different and fun. I miss the fun whimsy episodes and hoping we’ll get more like those in series 10.

No book haul this week. I’ve been trying to catch up on the books that I’ve acquired since last year.

  1. Hey! My name is Jackie too 🙂 Anyway, your weather forecast is mild compared to the cold winter temperatures here in Calgary. It is freeeeezing here with snow flurries off and on. Currently were at minus 17 Celsius . in Fahrenheit that is 2 which doesn’t sound bad but it’s cold.

  2. Just went over and read your review of This Adventure Ends. It sounds fun and I like the idea of the work at home dad finding fan fiction! I might have to get that one…

    Have a great week!

  3. I agree with you on The Doctor…it needed to get the fun back! Have a good week.

  4. I used to be obsessed with Doctor Who but since the new doctor I lost interest but I definitely enjoyed the Christmas episode it was such fun and I hope the next series is as good.

  5. I love Dr. Who Jackie, and enjoyed Return of Doctor Mysterio. I saw some previews for season 10 and must admit I am excited.

  6. Our winter weather must not have taken its meds. 80s in the early week and 20s in the last few days. And back to warm tomorrow! These kind of weather fluctuations are stressful!

  7. I haven’t watched the Christmas special yet but I’m really looking forward to it! I’ve missed Doctor Who so much this year! I’m glad to hear this was a fun episode. I like Peter Capaldi but his episodes have been so much darker and I miss the fun. Have a great week!

  8. Ooh, Hearts, Fingers and Other Things to Cross sounds like a good one! I’ll have to go check it out for myself. Hope you have a great week!

  9. Hey Jackie! Nothing wrong with no new books this week – that’s a blessing in disguise. I’ve not read any of Katie Finn’s books, though I’ve heard of her. I’m glad you liked it. =) Have a lovely week, Jackie!

  10. Rain sounds good compared to how it’s been here in Colorado. Snowing and freezing. Have a great week!

  11. Normally we complain about the endless rain here, but we’ve been having freakish, record-breaking snow this year, which have been causing chaos! I’ll take the rain back!!

  12. I’ve not watched the new Dr. Who episodes. Need to fix that. It’s been rainy and cold here but supposed to be back to 70s and sunny by Tuesday. I’m now counting the days until spring!
