Sunday Post (202) / Stacking the Shelves (182)

sundaypostThe Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

I’ve been trying not to watch Sherlock until all the episodes of the new series comes out because I like binge watching while knitting, but I caved in and finished the 1st episode the other day and I can’t say that I’m a big fan but it’s pretty theatrical as I never saw that ending all. One of my favorite parts was Sherlock trying to entertain John and Mary’s baby with the rattle and the baby just ends up smacking him accidentally on the head with it. It was cute and awkward because Sherlock doesn’t know like he knows what to do with babies. Anyways it’s been a pretty busy work week and sadly since it’s a 3 day weekend for many people I have to be at work on Monday. So no relaxing for me but instead I get to help move all the books, which should be pretty fun and hopefully not distracting. Ahaha being a bookworm that’s probably impossible.

  1. I’ve never seen Sherlock. 🙁

I kinda want to read Ever the Hunted- hope it’s good!!

    1. Watch it, the modern-ness makes it fun. 🙂

  2. I have heard great things about Alexandra Bracken I need to check her books out. I love the cover of Ever The Hunted. I haven’t watched Sherlock I think I need to. Have a great week!

    1. I hope you enjoy her books when you do. Thanks.

  3. Sherlock is one I always meant to watch and then never did but now feel hopelessly left out!! Hope you enjoy your new books and have a great week!!

    1. It’s never too late to start watching and fangirling.

  4. I read Wayfarer and really enjoyed it a lot. I hope you love all of your new books.

    1. Yay! I’ve been looking forward to that one a lot. Thanks.

  5. I really enjoyed Frostblood and hope you do as well. I am going to be off from work on Monday but only because I am taking a vacation day. It seems unfair to not get a day off that so many other people get doesn’t it? Enjoy your new books!

    1. I haven’t heard too much about Frostblood, but I’m glad you liked it. I don’t mind working because I love my job, but it does feel a bit unfair sometimes.

  6. I’ve not watched Sherlock yet. Perhaps when there’s a break in my other shows. I don’t get Monday off either. Off to work I go. LOL Oh well.

    My Sunday Post

    1. Too many shows, so little time to watch them all. I hope it was a relaxing work day for you.

  7. I watched the first episode of Sherlock for the new season, and I was really shocked by the ending! I need to watch the final two now though. 🙂

    1. Right?? I never saw that coming and I don’t even know how to feel about it. Kind of scared to watch the last episode. I hope you like the rest of the season.

  8. Sherlock is pretty good, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen them. I should probably brush up as well before the new episodes.

    1. That’ll be a fun marathon.

  9. Hi Jackie! I feel like Sherlock is all I’ve seen everyone talk about, on Twitter! I’ve not watched any of it. I’ve seen some mixed reactions for the recent episode(s) though? Hopefully that isn’t permanent!

In terms of your book haul, I’ve read all but the Suzanne Young one! I really loved Frostblood and Wayfarer. Ever the Hunted was good (though the ending made me nervous). Flicker and Mist… for me, not a good experience but it could have been my mood at the time. Oh well!

I hope you enjoy all of your new books and have a lovely week, Jackie! =)

    1. I’m still having mixed reactions after watching the 2nd episode, Alyssa. And now a bit scared to watch the final episode. Haha

I’m glad you enjoyed all of them. The premise for Flicker and Mist sounds promising, but it looks like it wasn’t enjoyable for a lot of people upon looking at the reviews on Goodreads. :-/

  10. Oh I was thinking about that show last night when I was looking for a new show to binge. Hmmm. May put that off a little then. Hope you’ve had a good week!

    1. It’s a really fun show with a lot of snark and sass.

  11. The first episode of Sherlock I was kinda disappointed in. Buuuut, episode two was awesome! I’m so excited to watch episode three!
I’m glad you enjoyed Heartless, Jackie! It makes me want to eat dessert, haha. Let me know what you think of Frostblood. I’m thinking of picking it up!

  12. Very nice haul!!
I’ve never watched Sherlock, but when I do watch TV shows, I tend to binge-watch as well 🙂
    Have a great week!

  13. I haven’t watched or read anything Sherlock. Although i have read a Mg series where the character are descendant of real and fictional detectives. I hope moving the books is fun, do you work in a library or bookstore? Have a great week!
