Sunday Post (22) / Stacking the Shelves (03)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Ahoy,
I’m 3 days into my mini-holiday from work! Originally my family was planning a famjam vacation but we’re too unorganized, but that’s okay, relaxing at home isn’t bad either since I get to catch up on my reading & tv watching. The weather has been warm, but not hot summer weather. I’m a little disappointed but there’s still a month of summer, so here’s hoping! Hope everyone’s doing well!

BOOK HAUL

STSmall_thumb25255B225255DStacking the Shelves post! Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, Stacking the Shelves is a chance to showcase new books, ones checked out from the library, bought, won or received for review.

I accumulated a collection from Netgalley, definitely excited for this bunch (:

A Rake's Midnight Kiss - Anna Campbell(01) A Rake’s Midnight Kiss by Anna Campbell

Aw yeah! The second book in Anna Campbell’s Sons of Sin series! I quite enjoyed Seven Nights in a Rogue’s Bed and I’m excited to see more of Harmsworth (and Rothermere!). We did get to see a bit more of them the novella Days of Rakes and Roses, so that was nice (actually from that I was expecting Cam to be next, not Richard).

Sometimes a Rogue - Mary Jo Putney(02) Sometimes a Rogue by Mary Jo Putney
Sometimes…

I haven’t read any of Mary Jo Putney’s work yet, I’ve good read things about her books, so I’m excited to try her out. I didn’t realize that this was Book 5 in a series oops haha. Oh well, with a tag line “Sometimes a rogue, always a hero”, it’s hard to resist.

I Dream of Johnny - Juliet Madison(03) I Dream of Johnny by Juliet Madison

This novella just sounds hilarious and right up my ally! I mean check out this synposis:

“Getting three wishes isn’t all it’s cracked up to be when an unfortunate spelling error in Mandy’s high-tech magic lamp changes her wish for a Greek God to a Geek God.His fashion IQ is in the negatives, he’s clingier than cling wrap, and he has a penchant for breaking into song at inappropriate moments. Before Mandy can request a replacement wish, she has to put up with him for twenty four hours, and the timing couldn’t be worse — it’s her friend’s wedding day, her ex will be there, and the God of Geeks insists on coming along for the ride!”

You can’t tell me it’s not going to be ridiculous fun.

These Broken Stars - Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner(04) These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner

First of all, let me just swoon over this gorgeous cover *siiigh. Second of all, let me just say how happy I am to get this book! This is the first time Disney-Hyperion approved one of my request! Thirdly! This book sounds amazing. I can’t wait to dive into this guy!

SYNC - Summer Poster

I’m also attempting to listen to more audio books! And SYNC has a wonderful summer of listening with two complete audiobook downloads–a current Young Adult title paired thematically with a Classic or Required Summer Reading title from May 30 – August 21, 2013. So there’s still a few lefts ! This week I snagged:

The False Prince - Jennifer A NielsenThe False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen

I’ve been meaning to check out this series for awhile since I’ve heard a lot of good things about it and I’ve been getting more into the (high/epic) fantasy. So audio book to download for free is perfect!
