Sunday Post (55) / Stacking the Shelves (35)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello all,

So looks like Kim will be playing around with the Bookmunchies new layout, so expect weird changes/missing things etc. Hopefully we’ll have everything up and running smoothly very quickly (: The weather’s finally warming up! And I really need to book my flights and plan my trip soon, eep.

 BOOK HAUL

STSmall_thumb25255B225255DStacking the Shelves post! Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, Stacking the Shelves is a chance to showcase new books, ones checked out from the library, bought, won or received for review.

Just a couple (:

IMG_2629(01) The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski

(Yup…that happened last night). It the one everyone’s been waiting for! Mine finally arrived in the mail, and boy is it pretty in real life.

The Wizard's Promise - Cassandra Rose Clarke(02) The Wizard’s Promise by Cassandra Rose Clarke

I admit, I really wanted to read this book for the cover. The guy on the front reminds of the Lich in Adventure Time, ha! Also, I do enjoy Cassandra Rose Clarke’s books and from what I gathered this one, is based in the same universe as the The Assassin’s Curse [my review] & Pirate’s Wish [my review].

  1. I got Winner’s Curse on audio. Awesome haul Cyn!

    1. Yay! I hope you enjoy it, it was a pretty interesting read (:

  2. Good luck with the layout, hope it all goes well. Read your post on retellings vs fanfic and thought it was good. A touchy subject for some- my own thought is I’m fine with fanfic for the most part, agree with Jo’s comments on that post.

    Have a great week.

    1. Thanks! I’m going to try to leave it mostly to Kim haha. I agree, I’m usually pretty good with fanfics for the most part too.

  3. This has been quite a busy week, have a nice sunday 🙂

    1. Thanks for stopping by (:

  4. I can’t wait to see the gorgeous finished copies of Winner’s Curse. I’m actually in the middle of reading it now, but I did take a little peek at your review and I’m so glad to hear you say it gets better in the second half!

    1. I was so happy that the finished copy is just as pretty in real life as it did on the computer haha. I hope you’re enjoying it! The second half is definitely the best part of the book 😉

    1. A combination of two loves 😉 Yup, I love white. I’m pretty indiscriminate when it comes to wine though, white, red, blush, I like them haha.

      1. A good friend of mine share a membership to the local wine club. 🙂 It’s a great excuse to get together once a month!

    1. I could stare at it for a while too 😉 Thanks! It’s all Kim for the restyling haha.

  12. Ah! I have yet to see a finished copy of The Winner’s Curse and I want tooooooo. But, I definitely picked up The Wizard’s Promise because of the cover. 🙂 I’ve not read The Assassin’s Curse, but I’ve read her adult novel, The Mad Scientist’s Daughter, which was really good.
