Sunday Post (77) / Stacking the Shelves (57)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Oh boy! Mid-August already! I need to move at the end of August for school this fall, and I definitely don’t feel prepared yet! And also on Friday, it was my birthday! Went out for drinks and food with my friends, so that was definitely nice. And my siblings bought me new shoes! (Which, if you don’t know by now, I’m as big of a shoe addict as I am books). And of course, I ordered a few books as bday gifts to myself (: Hopefully they’ll be here next week!

Birthday drinks! (i swear these weren’t all mine! ;))

The READS & Announcements

Read/Currently reading:

1. Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde

…. I didn’t read much this week, or rather, I’ve been re-reading old books because I can’t seem to have enough to time to really focus on one book. Which kinda good, because I do love re-read books sometimes.

STSmall_thumb25255B225255DStacking the Shelves post! Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, Stacking the Shelves is a chance to showcase new books, ones checked out from the library, bought, won or received for review.

Booooks. Nothing for review because I’m still scared that I’ll pick up a bunch only to realize school will kill me and I won’t have time to read them :/ But I did buy a bunch last week and they arrived in the mail this week!

The Girl who Circumnavigated Fairyland… by Catherynne M Valente
The Girl Who Beneath Fairyland… by Catherynne M Valente
Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill (my review)
Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowly
Princess of the Silver Wood by Jessica Day George (my review)

I’ve already Meant to Be and Princess of the Silver Wood, and since I liked them and love the cover, figured I might as well have them. Oh the Fairyland series! I got the first two, the covers/art work is pretty!! And I heard they lovely reads too. And I ended up with Graffiti Moon because my friend was buying and I though the book sounded so cute, I wanted to read it too, haha.

  1. Happy birthday! Hope it was a great one- by the looks of the drinks it wasn’t too bad. 🙂 Liked the teaser of illusive this week- I think that sounds like a fun book and I’m looking forward to reading that one.

    1. Thanks! Haha, yes (:
I hope you enjoy it when you get to it!!

  2. Aww, happy birthday! I hope those books arrive very soon! 🙂 I have Meant to Be but I haven’t read it yet. Thanks for sharing and good luck on your preparations for moving for school. Have a great week ahead!

    1. Thanks! One of them arrived today 😉
It’s a cute read, hope you enjoy it!

  3. Cheers (raising my cup of coffee that’s not quite matching those beautiful drinks) and happy belated birthday ! I look forward to your review of Jasper Fforde’s book, I loved his Thursday series. Have a great week and enjoy your new shoes 😉

    1. Haha, thanks! Coffee isn’t so bad 😉 I haven’t read his Thursday series, but they sound really interesting!

  4. I adore the covers of the Girl Who..books! It’s a cute story, too—very Alice in Wonderland feel to it! Ah, rereading! I generally don’t do alot of rereading, but lately I’ve been thinking of listening to a few old favorites on audiobook—that way if my mind wanders (like it usually does while I’m listening to them) I won’t be lost!

    1. The artwork is so cute right! That’s a good plan with the re-listening to audio books! My mind does tend to wander when listening to audio books and doing other stuff, haha.

  5. I love Graffiti Moon! It happens like over the course of one night which is also awesome. I love it when books do that. 😉 I also own The Girl Who Circumnavigated etc. (phew that title’s exhausting) and I’ve been meaning to read it for aaaages. MUST get onto that soon. 😉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOO!!
    My Sunday Post!
