Sunday Post (83) / Stacking the Shelves (63)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello! Jackie here,

Fall is the time of year that makes me excited because the holidays are close and I’m ready to shop for Christmas presents, which I almost always put off doing until the last couple of days before Christmas and horrible at doing because I want every present to be perfect (is there even such a thing??). Fall also means all of the books I’m looking forward to are coming out. The one I’m really excited about is The Blood of Olympus, the last in the Percy Jackson’s series (Kim and I are totally rereading this series this week). And then there’s the fact that I can finally drink hot tea to my heart’s content. What do you love about the fall season?

 BOOK HAUL

STSmall_thumb25255B225255DStacking the Shelves post! Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, Stacking the Shelves is a chance to showcase new books, ones checked out from the library, bought, won or received for review.

I didn’t get too many books this week. Sometimes when I borrow a library I don’t really get around to reading them. I might read a page or two before deciding that maybe it isn’t the right time to start it so I just end up returning them.

Borrowed via library:
Jackaby by William Rittar
Falls the Shadow by Stefaine Gaither – I ended up loving this one a lot. It totally messed with my mind.
Rooms by Lauren Oliver

  1. OK, I’m going to pretend that you didn’t mention that you are already getting organised for Christmas! That makes me feel scared, I’m so not ready to think the C word yet :O
I can’t wait to read Rooms, I’m a huge Lauren Oliver fan, I just love her unique prose.
Hope you enjoy all your books and have a great week.

  2. The only thing about fall I like is the cooler weather, I am not so keen on the fact that it leads to freezing weather. I hate winter! Not real interested in Christmas being around the corner as it’s just not my favorite time of the year anymore since my mom died. I guess I have sort of turned into a scrooge. 🙁

I so need to finish reading that series..I have only read the first book in the PJ series though I have the first three on my shelf. 🙂

    Have a great week!

  3. I like the smell of leaves as they caramelize, and apples, but I hate everything about it getting colder and darker. Seriously I hate it. We’ve totally lessened the amount of presents we buy. My sisters and I hardly know each other and we all have whatever we want to have so we decided to stop last year. Actually one sister decided to stop and forgot to tell my other sister or me. (bitter laughter).
My husband and I usually get each other something neither of us needs. Jewelry is often involved – which is a good thing.

  4. I always have great intention about Christmas shopping but the intentions never quite turn into action. I blame the people I’m buying for for the most part! I’m really curious about Jackaby! It looks interesting and I’ve seen some great reviews for it. Hope you love it!

  5. I’m curious what you thought of Coldest Girl I’ll check out your review:)
They say fall is hear on the Gulf Coast. Right now it’s dripping rain, in the 80’s and so humid. I’m in no rush for colder weather. I enjoy reading books by the pool, taking a dip to refresh.
About the Christmas thing. I’m trying to organize already. It always seems to creep up on me anyway though. LOL

  6. I want to reread the whole Percy series too. Just in time for Blood of Olympus ♥
