It began with my father not wanting to see the Last Rabbit and ended up with my being eating by a carnivorous plant. It wasn’t really what I’d planned for myself. (1%, Kindle)

But it wasn’t all bad, for the following reasons: First, I was lucky to have landed upside down. I would drown in under a minute, which was far, far preferable to being dissolved alive in the space of a few weeks. (1%, Kindle)

First of all, how cool is this cover!!

Secondly, how optimistic is this guy!

Okay, so I’m reading this book for my book club, unfortunately I haven’t had the time to really get into yet, but it sure starts interesting, doesn’t it!

He wore a splendid suit of superfine with touches of velvet. There wasn’t an ounce of dash in his matching black velvet waistcoat or his white shirt and simply tied cravat, yet the overall affect was, as Aunt Flo called it, “smart.” So smart it made her mouth water.

A pox on her love of a well-dressed man. (30% ARC, Kindle)

The fact that she could speak so nonchalantly of another man after practically swooning in his arms irritated him, and then his irritation irritated him.

The woman was a plague, damn her.

Yay! More of the Duke’s Men! (and Happy book birthday to How the Scoundrel Seduces!)

Tristan and Zoe are pretty funny, they work really hard to try to ignore their attraction to each other (as you can see, haha). Those I must admit, I do love a well dress man too, Zoe.

Anyway, expect a review of this (hopefully) Thursday!

  1. Hmmm, I’ve had interesting experiences with Jeffries’ historical romance novels… I’ll have to see if I want to read this one 😀 The Duke’s Men series went a bit downhill for me :/

How the Scoundrel Seduces: Made me think of ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man.”

I know right! Zoe knows what is what!

  8. Another Shades of Grey! This at least seems to have something to it. Just my opinion, though.

Here’s my teaser: The Mockingbird Next Door.

  9. That cover for Shades of Grey is awesome! Although…it totally reminds me of the other very famous book of similar name. 😉 But I’m guess this was published first. Awesome teasers! I’m curious.
