The Sunday Post (63) / Stacking the Shelves (42)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hi all! I hope you guys had a fabulously (bookish) week. I’ve been having a writer’s block kind of week where I realize everything I write just sucks. I realized that writer’s block doesn’t just mean ‘oh hey I’m writing a novel and hit a dead end,’ but it can be anything and I’ve been in some kind of reviewing writing block where all the reviews I’m writing doesn’t sound good. I guess it means that it’s time to change the way I review.

STSmall_thumb25255B225255DStacking the Shelves post! Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, Stacking the Shelves is a chance to showcase new books, ones checked out from the library, bought, won or received for review.

i consider myself a picky reader, but sometimes I do end up reading all the books just because my library has a copy of it so why not right? The worse case would be if I didn’t like it I can always return it.

Books Bought:
Wish You Were Italian (If Only #2) by Kristin Rae
Fool Me Twice (If Only #1) by Mandy Hubbard

Books from the Library:
What I Thought Was True by Huntley Fitzpatrick
Plus One by Elizabeth Fama

  1. I really hope that your writing block will disappear soon. It happens to everybody and sometimes I don’t want to read some reviews never again. *sigh* But you’ve got such amazing books! I really hope you’ll enjoy What I Thought Was True and I really want to read Plus One! 🙂 Great post 🙂

    1. I hope so too. It sucks to have writer’s block when you really want to write. Thanks! I did like What I Thought Was True. 🙂 I hope you get to read Plus One soon.

  2. I’m dying to read Plus One, The Taking, and After the End! I hope they are as good as they sound. 🙂 Happy reading and have a great Sunday!

    1. I’m looking forward to reading them soon. They sound super interesting and crossing fingers that they are just as good as they sound. 🙂

  3. You brought home some great looking books! Love the cover of The Hunt, I’ll have to look into that one 🙂

    1. Thanks! The Hunt recently had a cover change, so they’re more whiter than the original cover. I hope you like the series. 🙂

  4. Wow! Nice bunch of books. I liked The Taking, Plus One, and the Hunt. I have Mortal Danger on my review stack thanks to Macmillan. Come see what I got at Ms. Martin Teaches Media and Inside of a Dog. Happy reading!

    1. Thank you! So glad to hear that you liked The Taking and Plus One. I really loved The Hunt. Lucky! I’m looking forward to Mortal Danger. It sounds really cool.

  5. I feel like every review I write sucks. lol Excellent book haul! Enjoy! 🙂

    1. Aww don’t be too hard on yourself! I feel the same, but then I think writing reviews should be fun.

  6. Sounds like a great haul. I’ve seen Wish You Were Italian around and just love the title. The Hunt and The One look interesting too. Happy reading and don’t be so hard on yourself about the writer’s block!

    1. Wish You Were Italian was one of my top looking forward to 2014 books and the title sounds really cute. Thanks! I’ll try not to beat myself up about the writer’s block. 🙂

  7. I really do want to read Plus One, even though I haven’t read many reviews for it, and the ones I have been middle ground or lower rating. I didn’t like After the End as much as I wanted to, same with The Taking, the romance was a bit ick for me. Hope you enjoy them better though! 🙂

    1. It seems like a lot of people are interested in Plus One, but I agree with you. The lower rating makes me rethink about if I should read the book. Sorry to hear that you didn’t like After the End and The Taking. Those two were ones that I hadn’t been planning on reading, but since my library had a copy of it I might as well read it right? 🙂

  8. It totally understand the writers block. I’ve been suffering it writing my reviews lately too, so I’m trying a new tactic as well. I hope it improves for you. Enjoy your new books!

    1. That sucks to hear. Let’s both try our best to overcome this darn writer’s block. Thanks. So far it seems to be working. 🙂

  9. Hope your writers block goes away… I really like the covers of The Hunt and After The End.

Nice to see the Green Rider overview. I only read the first book but liked it a lot… looks like the series is humming right along.

    1. Thanks! I hope so too. It seems like a lot of people likes the cover for After the End, but glad to hear I’m not the only one who likes the cover for The Hunt as well.

I hope you get a chance to finish reading the series one day. They do sound interesting.

  10. Sorry about your block, hope it vanishes soon into thin air ! I loved the Green rider too and After the end looks interesting. Have a great week !

    1. If writer’s block was simple to get rid of…glad to hear you enjoyed the Green Rider series. I hope you have a great week as well. 🙂

  11. I’m behind on my reviews, but I hope to catch up soon. I think I might take my personal laptop to work a couple times this week and write over lunch. Perhaps the change of venue will make me focus!!!

    1. Hmm…maybe that will work. I will have to try that one day. Thanks for the advice! 🙂

  12. Fool Me Twice looks cute. Plus One is on my TBR shelf. Hope you enjoy all these. Happy Reading!
