The Sunday Post (65) / Stacking the Shelves (44)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hi all!  I’m by no means an insomniac person, but there are times when I’m just lying in bed and still have energy to keep going. I usually just read and then around 2:30-3AM-ish I close my eyes shut and hope that sleep will come to me. I hope you all had a good week.

STSmall_thumb25255B225255DStacking the Shelves post! Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, Stacking the Shelves is a chance to showcase new books, ones checked out from the library, bought, won or received for review.

I wish I had something to share with you guys this week, but I haven’t been buying books or borrowing lots of books lately. 1) I’m trying to finish all my ebooks and library books and 2) I’m basically on a book buying ban…for how long? I have no idea…but until then, I still have a gift card to my local indie bookstore, which I hope to use one of these weekends. But, for now the Stacking post remains empty.

How was your week? Did you guys get any awesome books or are you on a book buying ban like me?

  1. Too bad you can’t buy any new books at the moment, but then a gift card is even more special. I’ve just got some holiday money and I’m planning to spend part of it on new books and a dress or two…

    1. I’m trying really hard to save money, but with all these awesome new releases it’s hard to resist buying them all.

  2. I say good job for not getting any new books and reading what you have! 🙂

    1. Thank you! 😀

  3. Sometimes, it’s a good thing to have an opportunity to finish all the books you already have instead of falling for the brand new book everyone talks about ! You’re being wise, I support that 🙂 Have a great reading week !

    1. Thank you. 🙂 It is hard to resist acquiring new books, but I’m guilty of falling for the brand new books every time.

  4. sometimes its nice not buying a book. I find it hard not buying but then I always think of the books I have that I need to read and that helps…a little 🙂 have a good week

    1. lol I definitely understand your feelings. 🙂 But, in the end we always give into the book buying temptation right? 😉

  5. Luckily, I don’t suffer insomnia – I know my mum suffers badly from it. I’m sometimes ‘on call’ from my job and can get woken up (for telephone advice only) any time during the night, and after that I can’t get back to sleep. I than take a book as well and read, no point just pondering.
Have a great week and Happy Reading.
    My Sunday Post is here

    1. I don’t suffer insomnia either. This usually only happens when I have a strong cup of tea before bed and then I’m wide awake until 3-ish. But, I’m sorry your mum suffers from it though. Better to be productive than to toss and turn all night.
