Weekly Wrap Up (03)

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-up with Bookmunchies. This is our weekly update that combines Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer‘s SUNDAY POST and Tynga’s Reviews‘ STACKING THE SHELVES. This is a post to share news, to recap the week on the blog, share new reads and new books, and upcoming fun for the week ahead!

Hey guys, Jackie here,

It’s almost spring and while I’m going to miss the scarves and hats weather I’m ready to just pull on a t-shirt and just don’t have to worry about taking a jacket with me. At least in the afternoons. Speaking of spring, we had sunshine this whole week (around the 80s) here in SoCal and it was glorious. It’s weird to see how much snow the east coast is still getting though, which makes me forget that it is still winter. Sometimes I wish we got snow days, but nooooo SoCal had decided to be weird and do its own thing. I finished my Goodreads challenge of 17 books this year and it feels liberating. I actually had forgotten about it until I went to update my most current read and noticed that I finished. Now I can reread all the books, be in book slumps, and knit all the things without feeling guilty about falling behind.

✖ Teaser Tuesday: A Conjuring of Light
✖ “Waiting” On Wednesday: The Love Interest

Here at Bookmunchies we believe in being surprises for the week
(aka. we procrastinate, so we can’t tell you what’s quite coming up yet).

Resonance by Erica O’ Rourke: 3 of 5 stars
By Your Side by Kasie West: 3 of 5 stars

No new books for me this week. I’m planning to do all my book buying next month because next month is when all the book festivals happen. The authors list just came out a couple of days ago for the LA Times Festival of Books and I’m way more excited about the author list for YALLWEST than for the Festival of Books to be honest.

  1. It is Tshirt weather here in Central Texas. At least it was this past week! It is surreal to see NE getting snow at the same time we’re enjoying the swimming pool. I was busy this week working on other projects (and binge watching) to get much reading done, sadly.

  2. Congrats on finishing your goodreads reading challenge! Also, it sounds beautiful weather, with all the sunshine. It has been gloomy and raining a lot here in my country! 🙂

  3. We hit 80 here – I love it. I definitely will not miss scarves and warm clothes. Sounds like next month will be a book buying rampage. 😀 Have a great week.

  4. Glad to hear that you have finished your GR challenge. I hope you’re planning to reread this week.
Btw, Dissonance sounds great. Can it be read as standalone? 😀

  5. I cannot wait for warm weather, it is cold here in the northeast! I hope you enjoy all of your books.

  6. Yeah I am here on the east coast and it is still all white outside. I am so over it!!!! Yay for festivals next month!! Have a great week!

  7. It seems like everywhere around us got hit with now except us. (I’m in Pittsburgh). It’s still been pretty cold around here. I’m very ready for some warm weather. I’m a big sissy about the cold. Hope you have a great time at the book festivals! I need to look around here and see when the events are coming up. Hope you have a great week!

  8. The weather here has been weird. We missed the snowstorm though! Its been chilly and rainy in southwest Ohio. This week its suppose to stay in the 50’s, which is actually…normal. We haven’t had normal weather in a LONG time!
Oh have fun at the book festivals!!!!

  9. I can’t seem to go a whole week without adding a book. Good for you for not adding any this week. Congrats on finishing your Goodreads challenge. I set mine much lower this year at 100 and am already at 34 and should finish early. I like that I feel a lot less pressure than I did last year.

  10. I love Dissonance and Resonance, and I so wish there would be more books in that series. The multiverse in these stories just really work for me!
We have amazing weather too, and spring has definitely arrived to our great pleasure and much sneezing 🙂
Book fests are the best! I have several planned for the near and not so near future, too 🙂
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

  11. I also read Hunted this week, but I liked it more than you. That’s the great thing about blogs: everyone gets to state their opinions. I understand your points, but I liked that the book went beyond romance and into the constant restlessness that makes it hard for people to be happy. Have a wonderful week.

  12. I only got one new book this week. Kind of surprised myself. LOL Way to go on your Goodreads challenge. I’ve got a ways to go but see so problem completing it so I’m also enjoying rereads. Happy reading!

  13. We’re not quite to tshirt weather here but we’re definitely out of bundle up weather which is a delight though that transition type weather can be hard to dress for! Congrats on your good read goal! Definitely takes the pressure off when it comes to slumps. Have a great week!

  14. 80-degree weather sounds PERFECT! It was freezing and snowy here last week, which was random, because the week before, it was in the 60s. And then it snowed again last night! I’m over it. No more winter until the end of the year, please!

Have a fantastic week, Jackie! =)

  15. Boooo enough with the cold winter weather!! We normally have really mild winters here in the Pacific Northwest, but this year we just got hammered with slow, all the way into March, which is pretty much unheard of for us! Come on spring, hurry up!!

  16. Book festivals are the best! I went to Tucson’s earlier this month while we were on vacation. Such fun! Enjoy your rereads, I hope the dreaded slumps don’t hit you, and your knitting goes well! No dropped stitches! 🙂

  17. Congrats on finishing your Goodreads goal. It’s funny how it can be so liberating. 🙂
