Weekly Wrap Up (04)

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-up with Bookmunchies. This is our weekly update that combines Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer‘s SUNDAY POST and Tynga’s Reviews‘ STACKING THE SHELVES. This is a post to share news, to recap the week on the blog, share new reads and new books, and upcoming fun for the week ahead!

Hey guys, Jackie here,

Are we seriously near the end of March already? It boggles my mind how quickly we’re moving through 2017. But, spring has finally made its way to SoCal and it still feels like winter with the random rain and breezy temps. So it doesn’t feel spring like yet…at least to me anyways. The work week has been slow and routinely. Then again most jobs are routinely after you get use to what you’re supposed to be doing, even if it’s something you enjoy doing. Recently I’ve been curious about Hamilton. I’ve initially listened to the soundtrack a couple of months ago, but didn’t finish it because I’m not a big fan of rap music. However, I decided to give it another chance and it’s actually pretty catchy when you get past all the rapping parts and I like catchy musicals. The only reason why I don’t enjoy rap music is because half of the times you can’t understand what the singers are singing about and it ends up being a bunch of rubbish until you read the lyrics.

  1. LOL about procrastinating, I tend to do a lot of that also! Hamilton has been getting a lot of attention and I should really check it out.

I’m not a super big fan of rap either. Hope you have a good week- glad to see The Hating Game was good.

    1. Procrastinators unite. Let me know what you think of Hamilton if you do end up checking it out.

  2. Oh man it is not like spring here either!! I wish it would be already. Yay for the Hating Game 🙂 Have a great week!

    1. I know how you feel. It feels like winter is never ending.

  3. It is still cold here and we have snow on the ground still. I would love to see Hamilton! Have a great week!

    1. Wow! I hope it stop snowing soon.

  4. I’m listening to the soundtrack while I read the lyrics on YouTube. Odd that we are both doing this. I was inspired because I wanted to go see Hamilton while I’m in NYC in early June but I just couldn’t put out $500 for a show.

    1. $500 for a show?? I didn’t expect that. But, least we can imagine how the story goes base off the lyrics and music.

  5. I don’t enjoy rap music, either. I talk fast, but that’s way too fast. lol
It’s not even really spring here, it’s the beginning of summer.

    1. lol yeah I can make out some of the lyrics, but the rest is like they’re speaking Scottish or something.

  6. We’re starting to get springy here as well though it has meant a lot of rain. I don’t mind a rainy day here and there but a rainy week gets pretty old. I’ve listened to Hamilton and it’s definitely catchy. I haven’t been bitten by the bug but there are a few songs that never seem to get out of my head. Have a great week!

    1. Exactly, but at least it’s consistent so you know when you have to bring an umbrella with you or not. lolol which songs are your favorites?

  7. It’s insane how it’s almost April! I’m ready for warmer weather though (#EastCoastProblems). o_o I see you read The Hating Game! I still need to read it but I definitely plan on it. Glad you enjoyed it. I read Wintersong but sadly it was a little disappointing for me. I’ll still read book two though. 😀 Happy reading, Jackie!

    Have a wonderful weekend. =)

    1. I heard Boston got a bit of snow still last weekend, but hopefully your area didn’t get hit too hard by the snowstorm. I hope you enjoy the banter in The Hating Game. It was a lot of fun.

  8. I agree with you on the weird weather. I can’t wait for it to warm up enough that I can go out without a jacket. I love sweaters, but I’m tired of them. Have a wonderful week!

  9. I love music but can’t get with that rap stuff. And I’d like to see Hamilton. So much buzz still. I had an uneventful work week and I like those. Even though sometimes I feel like I didn’t accomplish much.

  10. There’s so much buzz about Hamilton, but I wonder if I would be able to follow along, since I don’t really know all that much about American history? My partner looked into seeing it while in NYC on a work trip, and apparently it’s sold out all year!

  11. Love Hamilton and want to see it so badly. One day… probably when they make it into a film. LOL

Hope the end of the month is good to you. Wait? End? Wow.

  12. Our weather has been crazy — from warm to a foot of snow to warm to cold. I’m ready for spring to show up!

  13. I can’t believe that it is almost April. Time really flies! I didn’t even realize that Hamilton had rap music in it. They just announced that it will be showing in my hometown in April 2018. My daughter wants to go but I can’t plan that far in advance. Have a great week!
