Weekly Wrap Up (06)

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-up with Bookmunchies. This is our weekly update that combines Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer‘s SUNDAY POST and Tynga’s Reviews‘ STACKING THE SHELVES. This is a post to share news, to recap the week on the blog, share new reads and new books, and upcoming fun for the week ahead!

Hey guys, Jackie here,

It’s been a long week with one too many doctor’s appointments. I used to like going to the doctor’s because it was something different, but now it’s exhausting and troublesome and it takes up most of my time. Because specialist doctors makes you wait almost all day in the clinic only to end up seeing them for twenty minutes tops. And then you have to wait for another fifteen minutes before the actual doctor comes in to talk to you. Yeah, it’s insane. Since it also happens to be spring break for many schools in my area, work has been crazy with parents coming in with kids to borrow books. Interestingly enough the amount of work we got this week wasn’t too bad actually.

Did anyone try buying comic con tickets this year? I wasn’t planning on going because I already bought tickets for anime expo, but my friends got me excited about buying a ticket so I just logged in to the “waiting room” for the fun of it to see if I can get one.

  1. I hope everybody in your family is OK, Jackie! It sucks to have to wait all that time for doctors, but I guess when you need a doctor, you just don’t have a choice. Sending positive, healing thoughts your way.
Enjoy your new books and have a wonderful week ahead.

  2. Alex, Approximately has been getting some good reviews, and I’m curious. and Ever the Hunted I’ve also been thinking about.

I’d love to go to comic con some day but it’s quite a ways away from me.

  3. Oh man, doc appointments suck 🙁 last year I kept having to go back as well. Biggest time and energy waste, especially because those surroundings just drain you somehow. Hope you get better soon!

  4. Ugh – sorry about the Dr stuff. 🙁 That’s awful!
Good luck with Comic Con tickets! I hope you get one! I hope you enjoy Ever the Hunted – I thought it was good!

  5. I’ve never been to Comic Con, but I can imagine that it is great fun. I’m honestly not much of a comic book reader, but I think the authors are super.

  6. I hate going and more importantly waiting at doctors. Sorry you have had to go so much. Comic Con and just thinking about the crowds there makes me all anxious. I don’t think I could handle it!! I need to get Alex, Approximately. Enjoy it and have a great week!

  7. Nice haul! I really want to read Alex, Approximately! It sounds like such a fun read, perfect for the summer 🙂 I hope you’ll enjoy all the books you got and have a great week!

  8. Sorry to hear about the doctor’s stuffs. I don’t like going to the doctor so I can feel it.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the books you’re reading and planning to read this week. Have a great week. 😀

  9. I don’t do the traveling events like BEA or Comic Con. I just go to our local events. But apparently I should become a librarian and I could travel every other week and have inordinate amounts of time off. I might be just a little salty about that. Or I have the wrong boss. You choose. lol

I also hate going to the doctor’s now. The ENT last year spent less than five minutes in the room with me and treated me like I was interrupting some super secret amazing project that I dragged his attention and focus away from. I was very unhappy with the visit a. nd lack of resolution of my ear problems. I don’t understand – that is their job! I’m just fed up with our healthcare system in totality.

  10. Hopefully your doctor’s appointments are going well though? I haaaate all of the waiting that has to happen. But then, on the other side of things, doctors and nurses are often overworked and the office are short-staffed. :/

I’m sort of glad to see that you didn’t totally enjoy The Girl from Everywhere! I think I gave it two stars – it was not for me. Oh well!

Have a fantastic week, Jackie! =)

  11. Sorry you’ve had to deal with all the doctor’s appointments. All that waiting can be so frustrating! Good luck with getting tickets to Comic Con—hope it works out for you!

  12. Sounds like you’ve had a busy week. I hate seeing the doctor it always feels like wait forever to go to a room to wait forever. The only plus side is quiet reading time. Sometimes it’s nice to have a not so busy week. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books. Happy reading!!

  13. I hate dealing with doctor’s appointments. I only get 3 weeks of vacation time per year and it is hard to actually get free time and still go to all of the appointments that I need to go to. I had a week off a few weeks ago and spent half of a day at the dentist and another half day getting my car’s oil changed. Blah. Hopefully, you got all good news! Have a great week and enjoy all your new books!

  14. I would love to attend a con, but everything’s always so far away from where I live, so sad! I hope you get tickets – how exciting that would be!!

  15. The Girl from Everywhere sounds interesting.

  16. Going from doctor to doctor suck 🙁 I don’t know yet if I’m going to any conventions this year. I’ve been to an indie gaming one earlier this month but otherwise… we’ll see!

  17. I hate waiting in doctor’s offices. Hopefully you won’t have to be spending so much time there anymore. Have a wonderful week.

  18. Oh that drives me crazy when they make you wait all that time for a tiny appointment. Hope this week is a bit calmer for ya!

  19. oh the wait at the Doctor’s is ridiculous, I don’t understand why it takes so long. Hope you get things worked out on the health side of things.
