Weekly Wrap Up (08)

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-up with Bookmunchies. This is our weekly update that combines Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer‘s SUNDAY POST and Tynga’s Reviews‘ STACKING THE SHELVES. This is a post to share news, to recap the week on the blog, share new reads and new books, and upcoming fun for the week ahead!

Hey guys, Jackie here,

Moving oversized books around at work has me exhausted this week, not to mention going to the LA Times Festival of Books for the entire weekend. There wasn’t a lot of author signings this year that I was excited about, but I did get a couple of books signed and the majority of the time was lining up for giveaways which was intense.

Is anyone going to YALLWEST next weekend? I’ll be there only on Saturday and hope that since it’s near the beach it won’t be insanely hot like this weekend. So I watched the new Doctor Who spin off Class and I’m really looking forward to the next episodes coming out. It’s got a bit of everything and I don’t know why, but it made me like Peter Calpadi’s Doctor more in this one than in the previous season. Because of this I’m really hopeful for season 10, which I still have yet to watch by the way.

  1. The LA Festival sounds awesome and YALLWEST does also. Hope it’s great! Glad to see too that Geekerella was fun.

I want to read Tell Me Three Things.

    1. It was fun, but tiring.

  2. I want to read Tell me Three Things too. Great haul and sounds like exciting ahead for you!
    Here’s my STS

    1. I hope you get the chance to. It’s a great book.

  3. Ah, I wish I was heading down to Yallwest! It always looks like such fun! I need to read the rest of Rachel Hawkins’ series–I loved Rebel Belle! And Tell Me Three Things is one of my faves–I hope you love it!
I watched Class, too, and I, well…didn’t love it. I plan to watch a few more episodes to really make up my mind. I did love the Doctor special appearance, though. And I loved the first episode of season 10! I was a little wary of the new companion but I really liked her!

    1. I hope you get the chance to go to YALLWEST one day. It’s a fun event with long crazy lines everywhere. Yes, I watched Class because I wanted to see what role the Doctor played in and was kind of disappointed he was only a cameo. Ahaha oh well. I wasn’t sure about the new companion either, but I have a feeling that I’m going to like her better than Clara.

  4. I’m super jealous about YALLWEST but I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed the festival! So many great book events coming up in your area!

  5. I love the Rebel Belle series by Rachel Hawkins, although I don’t know if the last book was my favorite. I hope you enjoy it a little more than I did! Hope you have a great week!
    Check out my Sunday Post

  6. It sounds like you had a busy week! I love your note on procrastination that is 100% me! I really enjoyed Tell me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum it was such a cute fun read, I hope you enjoy it! Have a great week!

  7. Wish I was going. 🙂 I have yet to get into Doctor Who, but I figure I will binge one day and be hooked. 😀 Hope the coming week is good to you.

    1. Watch Doctor Who! It’s a fun show with a lot of sass in between. The sassiness is what got me hooked.

  8. I love book events! A book event near the beach sounds like a dream come true. I hope you have a great week!

    1. It definitely is and it makes standing in lines more tolerable..

  9. I think the LA Times Festival of Books would be too big an event for me. I’m such an introvert and get overwhelmed easily these days. I hope you enjoyed it despite so few authors of interest (which stinks).

    1. I don’t mind going to big events, but I get more easily overwhelmed by smaller events.

  10. aww you had a long but fun week it seems! that is awesome.
Geekerella looks like so much fun 😀 cannot wait to read that one myself.

    1. Ahaha yup it was long, but fun. It’s so weird to be back in “reality” after the fun things happen.
