Weekly Wrap Up (16)

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-up with Bookmunchies. This is our weekly update that combines Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer‘s SUNDAY POST and Tynga’s Reviews‘ STACKING THE SHELVES. This is a post to share news, to recap the week on the blog, share new reads and new books, and upcoming fun for the week ahead!

Hey guys, Jackie here,

Summer is in a couple of days and I’m not sure if I should feel excited or anxious because you know the heat. However, I’m glad I’m not living in the Asian countries because they also have the humidity that comes with the heat which is even worse. Work has been a bit crazy this week because they’re removing and putting in new carpets so it’s been a bit hard to figure out which books we’re able to shelve as they’re working on somewhere new everyday. Recently I’ve been pretty slow at reading. I’ve got a ton of books I want to finish, (especially for series that I’ve started a couple of years ago but haven’t read the ending yet), but I’m reading at a snail’s pace. Maybe it’s because I’m disinterested in the books or they all feels similar but sometimes I find myself binge watching more shows and knitting than reading.

Also, Happy father’s day! Some of my favorite books with awesome dads in it are I Believe in a Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo, the Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer, and Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins.

✖ Teaser Tuesday: Traitor to the Throne
✖ Release Day Launch & Giveaway: Roar
✖ “Waiting” On Wednesday: The Art of Feeling
✖ Review: An Affair with a Notorious Heiress by Lorraine Heath
✖ Really Really Short Review: Nimona by Noelle Stevenson
✖ Review: Once and For All by Sarah Dessen

Here at Bookmunchies we believe in being surprises for the week
(aka. we procrastinate, so we can’t tell you what’s quite coming up yet).

[reread] Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza: 3 of 5 stars – Slow start that became engaging towards the last half of the book
The Names they Gave Us by Emery Lord: 4 of 5 stars
[reread] Renegade by Debra Driza: 4 of 5 stars – Things got a bit interesting, but I’m not a big fan of Hunter. He keeps giving mixed hot and cold signals.

Nothing new this week, but I feel like I’ve made some progress with taking that huge TBR pile down a bit. Haha who am I kidding, right?

  1. I love summer but not the humidity. And I hate it when I’m waiting for a series to finish, and then the alst book comes out and I’ve lost interest. Hope yours turn out good.

Mila 2.0 looks kinda good, I usually like the cyborg/ clone type stories but haven’t heard much of that. Will have to check out.

  2. We’re having HOT weather right now…triple digits this weekend and on.

Nothing new, though; that’s pretty much life in California’s Central Valley.

Enjoy your reading, and thanks for sharing. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  3. We still don’t have THE HEAT. Grrrr, it was raining all week! I just felt like summer abandoned us. Had to wear a coat!!
Also, congrats on not hauling any books. That’s a congratulation only other bloggers can understand 😀

  4. I live in the southern US and the humidity is killer. I don’t heat but when it’s so humid it feels like you can grab handfuls of air it’s just too much. Plus it makes my hair grow to epic proportions. Yay for no new books this week! I’ve been slowing down in my hauls but I need to take a bit of a break. Have a great week!

  5. Humidity is not a lot of fun. I live near St. Louis and we tend to get pretty hot some years with a lot of humidity. Sounds like a real pain at work with the carpet laying. Hopefully, it is over soon and looks great. Have a great week!

  6. We have no winter where I live. Its either humidity and bucket loads of rain or it’s just hot. I can’t wait to move further south and enjoy four seasons again.

Hope you have a great week!
