Weekly Wrap Up (18)

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-up with Bookmunchies. This is our weekly update that combines Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer‘s SUNDAY POST and Tynga’s Reviews‘ STACKING THE SHELVES. This is a post to share news, to recap the week on the blog, share new reads and new books, and upcoming fun for the week ahead!

Hey guys, Jackie here,

Yay, it’s July! Which means only a couple of weeks left until the end of the summer reading program. Somehow it doesn’t really feel like summer. Anyways work has been tiring this week and I’m totally ready for this 4th of July break. Though the only thing that is kind of  lame about it is we’re opened on the 3rd, but in a way I guess it’s good because I can make more money. More money means more books or it’s put into my Japan trip…usually. I can’t really call this weekend a break because I’m mostly going to be at anime expo. I don’t usually go to panels, but I love looking at all the artwork in the artist alley and see which anime is popular that I should probably watching. Which I’m pretty bad at keeping up these days because I like the romance stuff and romance isn’t such a popular genre in anime.

Here at Bookmunchies we believe in being surprises for the week
(aka. we procrastinate, so we can’t tell you what’s quite coming up yet).

  1. Enjoy your time at the expo. Yeah, a lot of folks have work on Monday unless they scheduled the day off. But yes. more money for Japan! Have a good week Jackie.

  2. Japan trip! So jealous 😀 yeah, that is definitely a good cause for making more money 🙂

  3. Hope you have a fun time at the expo, I can see why romance isn’t a super popular genre in anime, I have some friends that love anime but I have seen more romance growing in it a bit more each year.

  4. Have a good time at the expo! I used to love anime so much. But, I always wanted the more romantic stuff!
I always thought it would be better to have the 5th of July off-after you stayed up late for fireworks and such. But, I’m a teacher so I don’t really have any say here since I’m off the whole month!

  5. I feel ya, about the holiday. It could not come soon enough. The company I work at is also open on Monday, which is annoying. -_- Oh well!

Have a great week, Jackie. =)

  6. Artist alley at an anime expo would be amazing. Hope you had a ton of fun!!

  7. Have fun at the expo!! That’s awesome. I totally feel you on the procrastination, too!

  8. So many people have to work on Monday. I wonder how much real work is going to happen at some places. I took the day off but my office would be really quiet today anyway. Have a great week!

  9. I’m so jealous of everyone’s 4th of July break hehe, we don’t have another one for a month. Enjoy your holiday Jackie!

  10. Enjoy the expo! And wow Japan!

I hope you have a beautiful week!

  11. Have fun at the expo! I like looking at stuff at conventions and stuff, too. It’s so weird when a holiday falls on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. My ex would get a second day off if the holiday fell on his scheduled day off. That’s kinda nice!
