Weekly Wrap Up (51)

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-up with Bookmunchies. This is our weekly update that combines Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer‘s SUNDAY POST and Tynga’s Reviews‘ STACKING THE SHELVES. This is a post to share news, to recap the week on the blog, share new reads and new books, and upcoming fun for the week ahead!

Ahoy all, Cyn here!

I can’t believe the Olympic games are over! It was so much fun watching all the sports (biathlon still blows my mind!). I’m not sure I could pick a favourite event but figure skating is always a highlight and  I love watching luge and bobsled!

I’ve been in a bit of a reading and reviewing slump…I’m feeling like a might need a short break to get myself figured out, but we’ll see how it goes! I’m hoping to have a spark of inspiration that’ll at least get me writing some reviews for scheduling. I like the idea, I just need some motivation :/ In other news, I’ve got some of my inspiration back for instagram so check out @Bookmunchies for some pretty pictures 😀

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

✖ Teaser Tuesday: Unearthed
✖ Release Day Launch: Nobody Does It Better by Lexi Blake
✖ “Waiting” on Wednesday: Hero at the Fall

Here at Bookmunchies we believe in being surprises for the week
(aka. we procrastinate, so we can’t tell you what’s quite coming up yet).

Beyond Scandal and Desire by Lorraine Heath (currently reading): I’m liking the chemistry between Mick & Aslyn and I love that Heath doesn’t write your typical HR!

Unearthed by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner (3.5 stars): overall a pretty enjoyable space adventure! Full review hopefully soon on the blog!

Close Contact by Lori Foster (3.5 stars): A good read with exactly what you expect from a Foster novel – awesome romance, suspense and character dynamic.

  1. What a Highlander’s Got To Do by Sabrina York
  2. My Plain Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Aston, & Jody Meadows

  1. I loved that Sarah Jio book…which reminds me, shouldn’t we be seeing another new one from her soon? Hopefully?

I’ve been in a bit of a slump this week, too. Hopefully next week will be better. Enjoy! Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  2. Hate when I get in reading slump. Hope you get back into reading.

  3. I’ve been enjoying the Olympics as well, and will miss them. Bring on the summer games ha ha! Looking forward to your thoughts on Unearthed, and the Sarah Jio one looks fun too.

  4. I’m kind of sad I didn’t see the sleighs and bobsleigh… it’s too bad the Olympics is ending already. Not long enough!
    Have a great week 🙂

  5. I have just come out of a reading slump. Sometimes you need that break to get all the engines firing! I find something really light and fun to read helps!

    Enjoy the week!

  6. I hope that your reading slump ends soon! Have a great week!

  7. I purchased Renegades last nmonth and I have yet to read it!
Take all the breaks you need, sometimes putting pressure on ourselves only makes the reading slump last longer.

  8. I am kind of dealing with a reading/blogging ‘slump’ too. I don’t really want to call it a slump, but I’m behind, I’m not reading as much, and I’m not really getting into any book. Sigh. Hopefully it passes!
    Have a great week!!

  9. We were so busy this week, I didn’t get any reading done and very little blogging either. Hope your reading slump is over soon. Enjoy the new books!

  10. I totally understand the need to take a break and figure yourself out as far as your reading/blogging goals go. I did that for the entirety of last year. lol But this year I think I have a good handle on things.

  11. I didn’t watch nearly as much of the Olympics as I wanted but it’s always amazing what humans are able to make their body do. Hope you get your reading and reviewing inspiration back soon! Have a great week!

  12. I would like to get my hands on Renegade. I hope you enjoy it.
Have a great week of reading!

  13. The Look of Love has such a fun cover. Hope you enjoy all the books!

  14. I was feeling the same way last week so I didn’t write up any blog posts and just took the week off. I’m a bit behind on scheduling out reviews now but sometimes a break here and there is exactly what is needed. It looks like you have lots of great reading ahead of you. Enjoy!

  15. I have Renegades checked out from the library but haven’t gotten around to it yet. Hero at the Fall is one on my list to read. I’ve been in a slump and can feel what you mean about needing a break. I had to hand write notes to get myself to write my reviews for last week, I didn’t need them once I started writing but it’s what works best for me. I hope you have a great week.

  16. I hope you get your reading mojo back. I didn’t watch the Olympics except when I was out and it was on. I should have recorded it, but I didn’t think that far ahead. :/

  17. I just entered a Scavenger Hunt where What A Highlander’s Got to Do is one of the books you can win-which I hope I do-LOL. Also want to read Lorraine Heath-haven’t read her yet!!

  18. I liked the Olympics, too. You get to see a bunch of sports that aren’t usually on TV. I hope your slump ends soon. Have a great week!

  19. I failed to watch any of the Winter Olympics … Feel like I missed out! lol
