15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Day 13

Hosted by April of Books & Wine, here’s a chance for me to answer some questions about blogging and try to get inspired and excited again about why book bloggers blog about books!

So today’s prompt is:

Describe One Under-appreciated Book EVERYONE Should Read

Dealing With Dragons - Patricia C WredeDealing with Dragons by Patrica C. Wrede

Paperback: 212 pages
Publication date: September 18th 1990
Publisher: HMH Books for Young Readers
Series: Enchanted Forest Chronicles #1
Add on: Goodreads

Cimorene is everything a princess is not supposed to be: headstrong, tomboyish, smart – and bored. So bored that she runs away to live with a dragon – and finds the family and excitement she’s been looking for.

I love this book so much it’s ridiculous. I don’t know if it really counts as an under-appreciated but I do feel like it doesn’t always get as much love as it deserves because people don’t always know about, so that’s my reasoning for choosing this book.

This book is wonders for girls. I remember reading this book back in elementary school and just being blown away by the awesomeness of Cimorene (she really is a good role model!). And Kazul! Who’s (not Cimorene’s dragon, but she’s Kazul’s Princess)  a total boss!

AND this book as dragons, and wizards and witches and just plain awesomeness!

overly excited - Tangled

I’m pretty sure this book is the reason why I love fantasies. Also it teaches you a lot of things, like about doing what you want to do and standing up for what you believe in despite pre-determined gender roles.

Dealing with Dragons is not your average fairy tale, despite having dragons and princes and princesses and knight and all the things. It’s such a wonderful book that always brings big smiles and laughs.

P.s: You should read the whole series because it’s magical!

P.p.s: I love the cover so much! That’s basically how I imagined Kazul and Cimorene.

  1. The Enchanted Forest Chronicles are brilliant! I really need to get hold of copies of the whole series – I currently only own book two 🙁 I think this is a great pick!
