When fragile, sixteen-year-old Hope Walton loses her mom to an earthquake overseas, her secluded world crumbles. Agreeing to spend the summer in Scotland, Hope discovers that her mother was more than a brilliant academic, but also a member of a secret society of time travelers. Trapped in the twelfth century in the age of Eleanor of Aquitaine, Hope has seventy-two hours to rescue her mother and get back to their own time. Along the way, her path collides with that of a mysterious boy who could be vital to her mission . . . or the key to Hope’s undoing.

Addictive, romantic, and rich with historical detail,Into the Dim is an Outlander for teens.

This book definitely had a lot of good lines so here are a few of my FAVOURITE QUOTES! (note: quotes are from an eARC and are subjected to change)

“I know what you’re thinking, love.” The words come out husky, his accent more blue-blood than Highlander. “You’re wondering how someone so strong, so handsome, and so obviously endowed with athletic ability could’ve gotten himself thrown from a blood horse.” He winced as he sat up and swing long jean-clad legs over the side of the rock. “The answer is quite simple, really.”

Plus,  bonus…” He waggled slim eyebrow. “I always wear a kilt to these events and though it best to ascertain your opinion on knees. Just in case you feel unable to restrain yourself when you see mine.”

“She can’t let her ankles show.” Doug dropped onto a squishy sofa beside her. “You either, come to that. You’ll drive the lads crazy. Or else they’ll jail you for a harlot.” He sighed in a false annoyance. “Then I’d have to go crack some medieval skills. And who has the time?”

Oh God. No toilet paper.

I had a sudden, horrifying realization o what it meant to be “on the rag”. Bits of pastry flew from my lips as a hysterical bark of laughter popped out.

“Even if the Source is here and we happen to locate some opals, it might dump us in some monstrous dinosaur era. Or even worse”- he shuddered theatrically -“the seventies.”

“You think bell-bottoms are worse than velociraptors?”

“Infinitely,” he whispered with a grin that made my pulse jump.

  1. How come this book has so many different covers on Goodreads? And they don’t seem to be US/Intl. I like the one with the girl on it more than the plainer one.
Glad you enjoyed this – I had no idea it took place in 12th century Scotland.

    1. Yeah, I’m not sure! I think the one with the girl was the original cover…I like that one best, too! Yup, there’s so time travelling!
