It’s Romantic Thursday with Bookmunchie! So why is Thursday romantic? Because I like Thursday and I like romance! Basically, I just love romance, in YA books, in adult, contemporary, historical, whichever the genre and sometimes I’m too lazy to write full reviews but I do love sharing fun quotes or just gushing about characters. So that’s what Romantic Thursday is for! To share my love. May it be through actual full reviews, quick reviews, or just fun quotes.

Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion…she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit–more sparkly, more fun, more wild–the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.
When Cricket–a gifted inventor–steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.
It was a really enjoyable companion book to Anna and the French Kiss. It was was like apple pie and whip cream, comforting and sweet.
Cricket was very endearing and awkward and it made you root for him and even though Lola annoyed me at some points, she was still likable. It was nice to see Anna and St.Clair actually be part of the book too. The overall story was somewhat similar to Anna and the French kiss with its “emotional” cheating and “I have a girl/boyfriend already but maybe I like you more but I can’t/won’t break up with said boy/girlfriend” but hey it’ll all work out anyways when its true lurveeee. A pretty easy read for when you want something cute and quick.
Actually I think the thing that I may have loved most about the book is Stephanie Perkins’ references to Pushing Daisies (a show that should have never been cancelled /tears). Bring on the pies (and the Pie maker)! (:
