Sunday Post (120) / Stacking the Shelves (100)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

I really don’t like this June gloom stuff. It makes me confuse whether I need to bring my umbrella with me or not to work. It’ll be cloudy in the morning but by the afternoon it’s sunny and super warm. I decided to stop hoarding my books and start reading them. I got to thinking what if tomorrow was the end of the world? Or the last day for you on earth? I’m not a morbid person per say, but I don’t want to die having regrets not reading that particular book just because it’s by my favorite author and what if she (or he) didn’t write anymore (the horror!)? Though it would be quite amusing to return as a ghost because your unfinished business is not having read that book.

The READS & Announcements

Read/Currently reading:

[Read] Royal Wedding by Meg Cabot: 3 of 5 stars. I think I was expecting a lot of “new adult”-ish stuff to happen in this book (because you know it’s was announced as an adult book and not teen) and was let down as it felt more like a teen book than an adult one.

[Read] The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Adeldieh: 5 of 5 stars. I didn’t expect to end up liking this book a lot.

[Rereading] The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski

  1. Oh yes, I’m definitely a ‘Life’s Short’ person on the reading front. Less so with the rest of my life, deferring things I’ve already regretted or will ultimately regret! (Need to change that!!!)

  2. I can’t wait to read THE WRATH AND THE DAWN– too many awesome reviews to pass it up. And I didn’t really enjoy HELLO, I LOVE YOU but hopefully you will!! 😀 Great haul and happy reading!

  3. I’m very much like you too, got so many books on my shelf that are unread but i’m still going to the library to borrow LOL

I’m looking forward to reading The Wrath and the Dawn I hope I get the time as I’ve got a few review books to get through.

Wouldn’t it be hell to be a ghost and you couldn’t read a book because you couldn’t turn the pages? It would be hell for me anyway!
I have my Sunday Post here:

  5. Hopefully I’ll be able to take my kindle with me in to the afterlife as I have a lot to catch up on!

  6. I just had to laugh at the thought of coming back as a ghost to finish reading your books. Ha. I could totally imagine doing that. I need to read all the books!

  10. I refuse to even consider not finishing my TBR pile! It causes far to much anxiety to even begin to contemplate it. All the books will be read! Hope the June gloom is disappearing and next week will be sunshine. Have a great week!

  11. I’ve got to get ahold of The Wrath and the Dawn. I have The Winner’s Curse, but still need to read it.

  12. I have The Wrath and the Dawn. Everyone has spoken highly of it. Maybe that should be what I read next. Great post!
