Sunday Post (137) / Stacking the Shelves (117)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

Its been a pretty calm week for me. We were promised rain, but nada (it probably did rain a bit late at night though). At least the weather is cooler and feels somewhat like autumn (yay to finally being able to break out all the pretty jackets). One of my favorite tea shop opened in LA last weekend so I dragged my mom with me to check it out and stock up on some of my favorite teas. It’s nice to be able to smell it in person rather than just read the description online before buying it because sometimes it’s risky. I mean what if you ended up hating the tea? I know I could just give it to a tea loving person, but I don’t know that many tea loving people unfortunately. Everyone around me is a coffee drinker.

  1. I am planning to read Walk on Earth a Stranger this coming week, I haven’t heard much about it really so I am interested to see if I will like it! I hope that you will like it as well.

    1. I hope you enjoy it too, Clare.

  2. There’s been a resurgence in tea-drinkers amongst my friends, but it’s usually specialty teas and they will only drink with a teapot etc (not teabags!). I’m not a fan of hot drinks so don’t drink tea or coffee!

    1. That’s interesting. I don’t normally drink tea in a teapot unless I’m at a restaurant where they serve tea in teapots. Not even hot chocolate?

  3. I love tea, try me ! One of my coworkers just gave a pack that she bought but didn’t like, I think she just made it too strong 🙂

    1. Yay for fellow tea people! Yeah some teas can be a bit tricky to make. I know that if you over steep green teas it can be a bit bitter.

  4. I haven’t drank tea in over 10 years but the way you feel about tea that’s how I feel about coffee. I could stand around all day just sniffing it!

    1. I’m totally the opposite. 🙂

  5. I know the problem with only having coffeee drinkers around you. Though I am seeing an increase of tea drinkers at work.

Curious to see what you will think of Becoming Jinn. I wanted to read it until I started hearing all the negative reviews that told me it wouldn’t be for me.

  6. I am missing summer. 🙁 But a warm beverage does help.

    1. I’m tired of summer and ready for fall.

  7. I’m mainly a coffee drinker but I know what you mean, it is nice to go in to a shop and smell and touch!

    Have a good week!

  8. Walk on earth a stranger has such a beautiful cover. I am a tea drinker, I love the smell of coffee just not the taste. Have a great week.

    1. It is really beautiful. Same here. I love the smell of coffee and can sit in a coffee shop all day just sniffing the wonderful smell.

I love that you borrowed all the books you got this week. Libraries rock!

    1. Thanks and yes they do rock. :Db

  10. A tea shop sounds heavenly! I love tea though buy mostly different varieties from the grocery store. I would probably go nuts in a shop dedicated just to tea. I’m a coffee lover too but tend to go for coffee in the morning and tea the rest of the day. Have a great week!

  11. I have Dreamstrider as well, I cannot wait to start it. I love tea, I like buying sampler packs from places like David’s Tea, they have great seasonal boxes!

    1. I hope you enjoy Dreamstrider Ashley. I love David’s Tea. They just recently open a shop near me and it’s so wonderful being able to go in person and smell all the teas.

  12. We have actually gotten a lot of rain over the last couple of weeks. I am loving this cooler weather though. It is so nice! I hope you enjoy your new books. I read Tonight the streets are ours and just thought it was okay. Enjoy!

    1. Rain is so nice. I’d trade you for all the sunshine we’ve have over here if I could.

  13. I loved Walk on Earth a Stranger! We keep getting promised possible rain, and then not getting any here either. And then one day last week there was a brief sprinkle of rain that wasn’t predicted, but not enough to do any good. Hope you have a great week!
    Check out my Sunday Post

    1. Glad to hear positive things about Walk on Earth a Stranger. The blurb sounds intriguing so I’m looking forward to it. That’s the same with us here. It’s very frustrating to know if you need to bring an umbrella with you or not.
