Sunday Post (148) / Stacking the Shelves (128)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

So can we talk about the Doctor Who and Sherlock special? I loved both of them, but can’t decide which one I liked better. I didn’t really like Capaldi’s Doctor in series 8 or 9 but I really liked him in the special. He has some really good interaction with River though I was kind of creeped out when River finally figures out it’s him and he’s like Hello Sweetie. Yeah that was just I don’t know weird. I’m just really sad that we have to wait a long time for the next Sherlock episode, but this special was worth waiting for…I think. There were a couple of things I was disappointed with it, but nevertheless I was surprised how much I enjoyed watching Benedict Cumberbatch as Victorian Sherlock and no I didn’t like that mustache on Watson though for some odd reason it didn’t bother me as it used to before.

STSmall_thumb25255B225255DStacking the Shelves post! Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, Stacking the Shelves is a chance to showcase new books, ones checked out from the library, bought, won or received for review.

I didn’t borrow any books this week because I’m leaving for vacation soon and don’t want to worry about returning overdue books. I get paranoid if I bring library books with me because I might forget it at the bottom of the suitcase or I might’ve left it behind in a hotel.

  1. Haven’t watched Sherlock or Doctor Who yet, they are on my SKY planner wanting to be watched. I love Peter Capaldi but I am just not sure about his Doctor Who episodes.

    Have a great 2016!

  2. I haven’t watched either special but I’m really excited about them both. Capaldi definitely took some getting used to but I thought he had kind of found his way in the next season. I think he and Clara didn’t suit each other so I’m hoping that this next season everything will click more. Have a great week!

  3. Gah, it seems like we’re always waiting around for more Sherlock. I might need to go back and do a re-watch of them all. It’s a pretty quiet Sunday, so I might start that tonight.

    I hope you have a great 2016!

  4. I missed both of those specials, but mainly wanted to see Sherlock. I kinda fell of Dr. Who after David Tennant left, though I did like what I saw of Matt Smith’s episodes. Your rating of Marie Lu’s The Young Elites is helping to push that up my TBR list. I thought I’d read it after I finished Legend, but got distracted with all the other books. Maybe 2016 will be the year I get to it. Had a great week!

I totally forgot about the specials and didn’t watch them. Whoops! I’m behind on Doctor Who, though, so that’s okay. I’m pretty bummed I can’t discuss Sherlock yet, though!

Here is my The Sunday Post!

  6. I haven’t watched Doctor Who or Sherlock yet. I guess I probably should given that everyone seems to rave about them a lot…

    Have a fantastic week!

  7. I just started listening to Alienated by Melissa Landers on audiobook last week and I love it! I guess that means I’ll soon be excited for all her other books, like your Starflight WOW!
