Sunday Post (154) / Stacking the Shelves (134)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m not the biggest fan of this holiday but it’s the only day I tell myself that I can pamper myself all I want and to don’t think about the consequences until later (bye bye mini book buying ban-ish). I’m currently trying to save up for another trip to Japan (or elsewhere like Austria and Germany), but it’s really hard to put aside money for traveling when there’s so much you want to buy. In other news I’m slowly making my way out of this mini reading slump that I had since I finished Winter. I really want to read Stars Above but I’m afraid I’ll be in another reading slump after, so I might hold that one off for a month or so. It really sucks to be in a reading slump because you either are skimming the books or marking every book you read as meh.

  1. Going to Japan sounds exciting! I have a friend who lived there for a year and she came back with all kinds of stories! (Well and an engagement ring!) Have a great week and happy reading!

  2. Reading slumps are definitely not fun. I don’t have a lot of them thankfully but when I do I feel really out of it.
I read some great things about ‘The Killing Jar’. I hope you enjoy it.
    Have a great week 😉

  3. oh I hear ya about saving money. I am planning on moving once I finish my school program probably early fall and there are so many things I want to buy but can’t. Books is one of them. Its why I am taking advantage of the library, arc’s and paperbackswap. I love traveling though. I hope to get back to it once I get settled in my new career and all. Hope you have a great reading week.

  4. Happy Valentines Day lovely! Definitely pamper yourself and do all the things that you want, including buying books hehe. Good luck with saving for Japan, that would be an amazing trip!

  5. Eeep! I loved The Killing Jar! And I thought Take Me On was pretty good. I’m kind of hit or miss with McGarry’s books, but I’ve enjoyed most. I’m reading Walk the Edge and LOVING it. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

    Have a fabulous week. 🙂

    Check out my STS post!

  6. I hope you enjoy your books! I’ve heard some pretty mixed things about The Killing Jar.

  7. I hope you’re able to save for your trip to Japan. I’m going this June for the first time. Try to stay strong. I know it’s hard to save, as I’ve been struggling myself.
