Sunday Post (162) / Stacking the Shelves (142)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

It’s been raining on and off for the past couple of days and I know that’s a good thing because we need the water badly here in SoCal, but it totally kills some plans I had for this weekend. Which included going to the LA Times Festival of Books. Though at the beginning I realize they squeezed all the authors I want to meet on Sunday and usually Sundays is just kicking around and browsing through the booths for me, not running around getting books signed. Sometimes I wish they spread out the author signings you know. I mean how can you choose which author you want to meet over the other when they’re both signing at the same time. I guess there’s always YALLWEST at the end of the month.

  1. That’s too bad about the weather, the book event sounds fun. Yeah that would be a bummer though if the signings you wanted were all at the same time. 🙁

Hope you have a nice week!

  2. We had some nice rain in AZ this week too, but it canceled the hike we were planning. Hopefully YALL-West makes up for it.

Ivory and Bone is one I am waiting on as well. I am super intrigued by it.

Have a great week! My Weekly Wrap-Up

  3. Ahh I know what you mean about the signings. There are always too many I want to see at the same time. Grr on the weather no cooperating but yay for rain!

  4. Aww, sorry your plans got ruined by the weather! I’ve never been to a book festival, but they sound fun. Though that would be frustrating to have all the signings you want at the same time. Maybe this week will be better!

  5. Sorry to hear about the weather. I wish we had more opportunities to sign books by authors here. I got to meet Kiera Cass one day and she signed my books. Other than that I’ve never been able to meet an author in real life.
Have a great week and happy reading! 😉

  6. Sorry to hear your plans got ruined. Definitely no fun. That is kind of weird the cram all the author signings at the same time. Hopefully YALLWEST has some of the ones you missed. Have a great week!

  7. You’re so good for not getting any new books this week! I am so excited for Ivory and Bone as well.
    Check out my Sunday Post

  8. Oh, how I wish I could be in SoCal right now. The weather here in Chicago has been miserable! Hope you get to see Evelyn Skye at YA’ll West – she’s on my list of must-meet authors!

  9. Ah it sounds like a great author event nonetheless Jackie! I can’t wait to hear what you think of YALLWEST when you head there! Will be living vicariously through you.
