Sunday Post (170) / Stacking the Shelves (150)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

If I thought May was gloomy and still cold the heat in SoCal has begun to pick up this past couple of days. It’s starting to feel like summer here and while it seems that everywhere else is experiencing tornados and the like (flooding, etc.) there’s nothing exciting going on in SoCal – weather wise that is, which I should be thankful for. Anyways it’s been a long crazy week at work because of the Memorial’s Day weekend. You’d think holidays make the week short, not this time.

  1. I’m a middle school teacher, and I totally concur. When there’s a holiday, there’s even more work. It’s like, “Still gotta get this unit done in the allotted 6 days for that district test – which didn’t include the holiday in the planning!” Have a better week!

    1. Oh no! I hope you managed to catch up with all your work. I guess there’s no relaxing for the both of us.

  2. I have IVORY AND BONE to read too, and I can’t wait to get to it. Hope you enjoy it! Can’t wait to read THIS SAVAGE SONG, as well. Happy reading and hope you have a great week 😀

    1. I hope you like This Savage Song better than I did.

  3. We are out early this year, so summer has begun here. Rain, too. Constant rain. No flooding. Yet.

    1. Yay for an early start to summer break! I hope you get tons of fun reading done. Hopefully the rain isn’t killing the summer vibe where you are.

  4. I had a crazy busy week at work too. I think Labor Day week will be different but libraries are busiest around this time of year when kids get out of school and summer reading programs start up.

I hope you are enjoying My Lady Jane. I am really curious about that one. I find her story to be fascinating.

    1. Ugh the only holidays that are not so stressing after is usually Christmas and New Year. Right? Well the summer reading program makes the days go by faster so I actually don’t mind.

Holidays just make for a busy work week since you are cramming five days of work into four….or at least that’s my opinion 😉 Going to be reading This Savage Song later this week. Hope you have a great week!

    1. You are so right now that I think about it. I hope you like the book better than I did.

  6. Yeah, it’s getting hot here. In the 90s and so sticky. LOL I won’t complain after the long winter though!

    1. 90s sounds terrible. I wish it was still winter… just without the rain.

  7. I just read a not so good review on Ivory and Bone, but it’s one I wanted to read. I’ll be interested to see what you think of it!

    1. Uh oh! I hope it won’t change your mind about reading it. Some books may end up surprising you even if everyone else didn’t like it.

  8. We had a long holiday weekend and I am still confused as to what day it is now!!

    1. Ahaha me too.
