Sunday Post (171) / Stacking the Shelves (151)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

It’s one more week to go before the summer reading program starts at my library and while I’m kind of excited I’m also scared. Especially since it’s been so tiring lately trying to catch up with the work. I mean I love books and I don’t mind shelving all day, but sometimes I wish it wasn’t so stressing. Anyways, last Sunday I got the chance to go to the JPL open house and it was interesting. There were tons of swag (sticker and bookmark swag are my favorite) and I saw a kid wearing a Camp Jupiter t-shirt, which I gave him a huge thumbs up in my head.

  1. My Lady Jane was a lot of fun, so I hope you like it too! 🙂
The summer reading program at the library sounds great. I hope it turns out to be a good experience for you and not too stressful.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading!

    1. I’m crossing my fingers that it won’t be too stressful this year.

  2. I love when I spot someone wearing a cool t-shirt or one of my fandoms. I hope the summer program is a success and not to stressful Jackie 🙂

    1. Right? It’s like you’re in a secret club when you recognize the fandom. Thank you!

  3. I’d love to work in a library and be surrounded by books all day, even if I can’t read them, books just make me happy! Hope you enjoy My Lady Jane, I want to get my hands on that soon too.

    1. Me too. The library is my happy place. I hope you enjoy My Lady Jane when you get it.

  4. Good luck with the Summer program. It sounds fun. And working in a library sounds like a dream job.. Sigh..

Good luck with the Summer Reading program. It sounds like a fun program (if you don’t have to work it) 😉 How did you enjoy My Lady Jane? I thought it was really good, even if it was way off historically. Hope you have a great week!

    1. Thank you! My Lady Jane was a really fun book and I totally didn’t mind the inaccuracies.

  6. Sounds like it’s busy at work! Vassa in the Night does sound good, I’ve got it for review but I haven’t had the time to start on it yet! Also, Ivory and Bone hasn’t been released here yet, but I’m really looking forward to that one!
Hope the summer reading program doesn’t make work too busy and stressful!

    1. I heard mixed things about Ivory and Bone, but I hope that you enjoy it when you get it. Thank you!

I was just thinking how I wish our local library’s children’s program was on the weekend. My daughter will never experience it the way I did growing up. 🙁 I hope your summer program goes well and the work isn’t as stressful as your expecting. That’s kind of how I feel during the school year. Summers usually are a little easier for me.

The JPL open house sounds like a lot of fun! I am glad you got to go.

    Have a great week!

    1. They have a lot of children’s program going on during the weekend at my library so it’s usually crazy busy almost every weekend here. I hope you are able to find a children’s program that your daughter will be able to experience. Thank you! I’m glad that your summers aren’t usually busy.

  8. Good luck with your summer reading program! I participated one year when I was in middle school and I remember we went to the city cemetery and did rubbings. I thought it was totally cool, but nobody I knew was participating in the program. I think they were all home-schooled children. I’m sure it can be draining in itself!

    1. That’s sounds interesting and unusual. I didn’t know they did field trips as part of your summer reading program.

  9. Awwww, I hope the program goes well! It’s been quite some time since I participated in one of those programs – I miss being a kid. 😉 I liked My Lady Jane! Great choice there. I hope you have a fabulous week, Jackie!

    Check out my STS post!

    1. Right? Every time I’m at work it makes me miss being a kid because of all the awesome things they have going on just for them. Thank you!

  10. I can’t wait to get my own copy of My Lady Jane! i hope you enjoy it 🙂
