Sunday Post (177) / Stacking the Shelves (157)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

The heat is back in SoCal again and with a fire on the loose, near my area, it’s like triple digits to the max. But, aside from that, summer is slowly winding down. Which is so strange but at the same time I’m ready for the fall sweater weather. Last weekend I went to Universal Studios and the first place we had to visit was the Wizarding World. It’s not as magical as the first time I went to the one in Japan earlier this year, but I’m still mesmerized by the sight of everything. I didn’t ride on all the rides, but the only one I did ride on was the Quidditch ride and let’s just say that I’m never going back on. It’s not for the faint of heart (though the visuals were spectacular from the parts I actually did open my eyes out of curiosity) especially if you freak out on roller coasters like me. I hope everyone had a good week.

  1. We’re broiling here in the South too and I’ve had about enough. Normally heat doesn’t bother me too much but it’s been getting to me lately. That’s too bad about freaking out on roller coasters but the Quidditch one sounds fun.We went to the Wizarding World in Orlando a number of years ago and really liked it. I’d love to go back. Have a great week!

    1. Living here I’m pretty used to the constant heat we get throughout the year, but some days is just nuts. Ooh! I hope you get to go back soon. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

  2. It is miserable here in Texas. Just out of curiosity, I started checking the temperatures last night at regular intervals. It was still 100 degrees at midnight and one when I went to bed. I wouldn’t mind having cool 70s until April. I’m scared of rollercoasters in the sense that they make me nearly hyperventilate until I scream myself silly. And I am TERRIFIED of something happening to my glasses. Have a great week!

    1. Oh wow! I thought Texas would be cooler than us for sure. I wouldn’t mind the 70 degrees for the rest of the summer either. Oh no! I get scared, but I end up being too scare to scream.

  3. That’s awesome that you had two five star reads in a row it looks like! I love those weeks. It’s horribly hot here right now, I’m so tired of it and ready for fall.
    Check out my Sunday Post

    1. Thanks. I love it when that happens, which doesn’t happen too often. Same here. I wish it was fall all year round.

  4. Ohhhh it definitely sounds really hot there but it sounds like you had a great time at universal studios. I’d love to visit Harry Potter land one day!
