Sunday Post (186) / Stacking the Shelves (166)

sundaypostThe Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

It is fall and I’m loving it. Okay, maybe it’s not quite fall like weather here in LA yet but it hasn’t been too hot like it was earlier this week where the humidity was unbearable. I’m crossing my fingers for the next couple of weeks to be cooler so that I can finally finish knitting the two shawls I started earlier this summer. I’ve been knitting small objects (like hats and socks) throughout the summer because sometimes it got too hot to knit with wool. Which is kind of a shame because I really would like to wear a shawl during the colder months (haha it’s LA is there such a thing as colder months here?). Speaking of colder months, I finally got the chance to try the frozen butterbeer at the Wizarding World last week and it tasted much more satisfying than the hot version.

Stacking the Shelves post! Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, Stacking the Shelves is a chance to showcase new books, ones checked out from the library, bought, won or received for review.

I didn’t add anything new to my shelves this week. Have been too busy catching up on my never-ending TBR pile. There’s a couple of books I’ve been waiting for that’s coming out soon and while it’s not October yet there are so many books that are coming out that month that I need.

  1. So many books and never enough time to read them all. I know what you mean. I need to stop requesting books. Have a great week.

  2. Whaaaaaaaat, nothing new? Woah. That’s dedication! Also you should share pictures of your knitting! 😀

    Have a fantastic weekend!

  3. I’m seriously excited about the Fall hitting, too! We’ve had just a taste in NC but then it goes back to 90 and makes me want to whimper. lol Good luck on your projects!

  4. I am really trying not to request any new books this week too. I am WAY behind on my TBR list. I had a bunch of migraines so they put me behind on my reading. My self control isn’t too good when it comes to getting new books tho, so we’ll see how it goes. haha! Hope you have a great week!

  5. I’ve just dug my knitting needles out to try and make a few scarves and hats now the weather is changing- difference is it will get cold here so they are much needed.

  6. I don’t know how to do anything requiring material, wool, or thread. I am amazed at people who do. I do one day want to be able to make quilts. That was something my great-grandmother did and my parents still have her quilting frame.

  7. What does Butterbeer taste like? Is it alcoholic? I’ve always wondered that from the scene in Harry Potter 7 when the trio goes into the tavern. Hermione does seen a little drunk on that walk home. It was smart of you to not get any new books and just work on your TBR pile. You’ve got a disciplined disposition. Have fun reading your other books.

  8. That frozen butterbeer definitely sounds AMAZING! Good on you for knitting and being productive, I don’t know where I would start with that stuff lol. Have a great week!

  9. We had full on fall weather today after seeing temps dip back up to 96 last week. Sometimes nothing to add to the shelf is a good thing! *eyes tbr pile*
