Sunday Post (204) / Stacking the Shelves (184)

sundaypostThe Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello, Jackie here,

Happy Chinese New Year to those who celebrate. If it’s not raining, it’s so cold. While I don’t go through my tea stash as much during the summer I end up going through a lot in the winter (seriously wish they invented a cup that stay warm for hours on end). The only thing that I hate is when a tea doesn’t work out for me, so sometimes I’m a bit fearful of trying new flavors despite telling my coworker that I like trying new flavors. Because of this I started keeping a notebook of the teas I’ve tried with liking or disliking it so I know if I need to buy it again the next time I replenish my stash. Anyways, it hasn’t been a busy work week, which is a nice change from a couple of weeks ago.

  1. Happy Chinese New Year! I love trying new teas but there are so many it’s sometimes hard to know which I want to try!

    1. That is true. I usually just stick with Earl Grey or black teas though. Hopefully you find some that you like.

  2. I have never liked tea. I am from the south where sweet tea is like the official drink but I just don’t like any kind of tea!!
Hope you have a great week!

    1. I hope to try some sweet tea from the south one day.

  3. Happy Chinese New Year! I think is Rooster right? I’ll have to get me one of them endlessly warm cups! 🙂 I LOVED the Fantastic Beasts Movie LOVED IT! But I haven’t read the book yet. I SHOULD!

    1. Thank you and yes, it’s the year of the rooster. This is one of those times where I wish magic was real because who likes cold tea or coffee?

  4. Happy Chinese New Year! I like trying new teas too. I’m should be getting some new blends soon and I’m excited. Hope you have a great week!

    1. Yay! I hope you enjoy all your new blends. It’s exciting to see how they’ll taste.

  5. Happy Chinese New Year! I am not all that into trying new tea flavors. I just want what I grew up drinking.

    1. Aww yeah sometimes I just stick to Earl Grey by default if I’m unsure about new tea flavors for a new to me brand.

  6. Oh I am a fan of tea in the winter too. I like to try new ones but have my favorites. Oh and the Yeti brand of cups keeps stuff super warm for hours!!! Have a great week!

    1. I usually just stick to my favorites most of the time and venture to try new flavors if the name or ingredients sounds interesting.

  7. oh I hear ya about the tea. I really just stick with chamomile and peppermint. I get so anxious trying new flavors.

    1. I just stick to earl grey or black teas in general. Right, it’ll be a waste if you didn’t like the flavor but if you have friends who like tea you can always give them some to try.

  8. I can’t decide if I want to read the Fantastic Creatures book, since I’ve already seen the movie. Still need to finish the Cursed Child though. You’re so good at not getting any new books. I hope some day I can do better about that.
    Check out my Sunday Post

  9. I love tea and tend to drink more of it in winter. Unfortunately I can no longer have caffeinated tea (black tea is my favorite especially English Breakfast, Irish Breakfast, and Assam). Instead I’ve been drinking rooibos or other herbal teas like Bengal Spice (Celestial Seasonings). I hate when I buy a new flavor to try and don’t like it, especially if it is something more expensive.

I am so ready for spring. Hope you have a great week!

  10. I’m not a huge fan of tea — I’ve liked several flavors/types, but I don’t like it when it’s too hot, and not at all when it gets too cool. And it doesn’t stay in the sweet spot long enough to drink more than a few sips (I’m a slow drinker). Best wishes on your continued experimentation on new flavors 🙂

  11. I like plain old iced tea but have never even tried anything fancier than that. That is awesome that you didn’t add any books this week. I seriously need to do that for a few weeks and try to really get caught up. Have a great week!
