Sunday Post (49) / Stacking the Shelves (29)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Still nothing too interesting on my side of the fence. I’m attempting to start planning my travels (hopefully a 3-4 month excursion back to Australia & Asia, depending on what I can affording). Weather’s not too bad, book club is still enjoyable (now that we keep adding more food to each meetings) and I’m still trying to catch up on TV. There’s also a few books that are coming out soon that I’m so excited for so, I’ll probably be over-indulging in some reading soon. Hope everyone has an awesome week.

(02) Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
(03) Rebel Spring by Morgan Rhodes

So Indigo’s had really good deal on for the Percy Jackson series and since I really enjoyed the first one and can’t resist a deal, I bought it, along with Ready Player One (which I read for book club & enjoyed it so much, I need to own my own copy). I also won Rebel Spring, which arrived in the mail this week! Thanks to Jess @ Reading Rook Reviews (:

The Winner's Curse - Marie Rutkoski(01) The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski

Thanks Macmillian & Netgalley! Okay, so with all the hype around this book, I’m almost a little scared to start it, but at the same time, I’m crying tears of joy that I somehow managed to get an eARC copy. Oh the expectations. And damn, I still love the cover. Will be reading soon.

  10. I LOVED Ready Player One, too! Such a good book! And I’m looking forward to The Winner’s Curse, although I do wonder if it’ll live up to the hype, too! Hope you love it!

    1. Glad you loved Ready Player One too!
I’m wondering if I should lower my expectations just a bit for Winner’s Curse, so it has the chance to wow me haha. Hope you love it too!

  11. YES you got the Percy Jackson series! I really loved it and it was a lot of fun. The Winner’s Curse looks really good too. Enjoy all of your reads!

    1. Thanks! My two good friends just finished reading Percy Jackson and loved it, I definitely need to find some time to finish it off haha.

  12. Oh yay! You got The Winner’s Curse too. (I didn’t add it in mine because I was kind of afraid, too, since it’s kind of disappeared off Netgalley) I don’t know if that was just mine or what, but yeah. so excited, I’ll probably put it in mine next week now. Hope you enjoy it! *fingers crossed* 🙂

    1. I think it disappeared of Netgalley b/c there was only 100 copies, and once they were gone, it wasn’t up anymore (but it should still be on your own shelf!). I’m definitely excited to read it too! Hope you enjoy it!

  13. WHOO! Another new Percy reader!! I recently read the first one and fell in love so I immediately bought the rest of the series!! I was lucky enough to be gifted an ARC of The Winner’s Curse and I devoured it. I just wish I would’ve waited because I’m already dying for more! Cant wait to hear what you think of it. I haven’t read the Falling Kingdoms books yet, but I’ve been wanting to buy the first book to try it out since lately everyone has been raving about Rebel Spring!! Great haul, girl!! I hope you enjoy all your pretty new reads and have an awesome week! Thanks for stopping by my blog!!

    1. I read the first one a while back, but hadn’t gotten around to reading the rest, the sweet deal on it sounded like a good excuse to buy it and finish it 😉 Ooh yay, I’m really excited to check out The Winner’s Curse.

Falling Kingdom is like those crazy high fantasy series but in YA form, so if you like that kinda stuff, than you’re good to go! I really enjoyed the first one haha.

      1. I’m still iffy on it. I’ll probably just wait until I find a really good deal on it somewhere lol

  14. I love the cover of The Winner’s Curse! It’s fabulous. 🙂 I’ve been meaning to read more Percy Jackson’s too…I’ve only read the first. My StS!

    1. Me too! It’s definitely one of those I’d buy just for the cover haha. I’ve only read the first one too, seemed like a good excuse to buy the box set since I needed to read the rest 😉

  15. Ready Player One is so much fun!

    1. It definitely was!

  16. Super jealous of your copy of The Winner’s Curse, I want to read that one so bad. I feel like one of the only people who hasn’t read the PJ series. I hope you enjoy your books 🙂 My STS.

    1. I kinda of lucked out and was on Netgalley at the right now (: I hope you get to read The Winner’s Curse soon!
I’ve only read the first PJ book, but it was a fun read. Thanks!
