Sunday Post (57) / Stacking the Shelves (37)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hello all,

So living in Saskatchewan can be such a pain sometimes. It’s now official spring and somehow were getting -20C temps, when just the week before we were finally in the positive! Slow reading week. Trying to get both life and blog stuff done before I go travelling (in a weeeek! oh man). Hope everyone’s having a warm(er) spring (than me, ha).

STSmall_thumb25255B225255DStacking the Shelves post! Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, Stacking the Shelves is a chance to showcase new books, ones checked out from the library, bought, won or received for review.

Looks like all those books I requested on Netgalley decided to be approved all at once!
The Break Up Artist - Philip SiegelSearching for Perfect - Jennifer Probst

(01) The Break Up Artist by Philip Siegal
(02) Searching for Perfect by Jennifer Probst

Thanks Harlequin Teen, Simon and Schuster & Netgalley! I requested both of these a while back but just recently got approved. Definitely excited to check out both. The Break Up Artist definitely sounds interesting! I really enjoyed Probst’s Searching for Someday, so I’m hoping Searching for Perfect will be just as awesome.

Dark Metropolis - Jaclyn DolamoreThe Kiss of Deception - Mary Pearson(03) Dark Metropolis by Jaclyn Dolamore
(04) The Kiss of Deception by Mary E Pearson

Thanks Disney Hyperion & Macmillian Kids! Two more books I’ve been really wanting to read! I’m on the blog tour for Dark Metropolis, so expect a review in June! It was my WoW a while back, and it just sounds pretty intriguing, alternate universe 1930’s Germany! Kiss of Deception, I couldn’t resist, even though it’s the first book in a trilogy and there’s a love triangle. Though rumour has it, the love triangle isn’t that bad! One can only hope. Anyway, it just sounds too interesting to pass up.

  1. Sorry to hear it’s so cold there, we’ve warmed up a little but not nearly enough! Snow is melting though slowly… I liked your Hype about Books post, I agree with a lot of your points. I often feel the same way when reading something that’s been heavily hyped.

Hope this coming week is a good one!

    1. I hope spring weather arrives soon for everyone!
Thanks (: Hype around books is definitely a mix of good/bad things, wouldn’t you say?

  2. Our nights are cold, but not as much as your days… I’m sending you a ray of sunlight, spring is sprouting around here. Have a great warm sunday !

    1. Thank you (: I hope your nights are warming up too!

  3. Oh, and there is me complaining about 10C in the plus!
I like the cover of Breakup Artist, it certainly caught my eye.
Have a great week and Happy Reading.
    My Sunday Post is here

    1. Haha, we could trade 😉 I think the cover of the Break Up Artist is pretty interesting, too!

  4. Wow, and I was complaining about being in the 20s and 30s here in MI!

    1. Yeaaah, it’s kind of terrible in Canada this year ): But hopefully it warms up everywhere soon!

  5. I’m glad that I live in a nice mild climate in central Scotland! We’ve had a milder winter than normal though early spring has been a bit chilly. I’m not really a sun person anyway so I don’t mind cold days inside with a book!

    1. Very true, snuggling in with a book is always nice! I’ve been to Scotland once, and it was in June, so it wasp pretty warm, so that was nice 😉

  6. Yes, Mother Nature has been quite a trickster this spring. It was so beautiful in the Midwest on Friday and then suddenly yesterday the wind was whipping and it was FREEZING.

    Here’s to warmer weather soon.

    Terri M.

    1. Very tricky, you’re never sure what’s around the corner! Yes, please, warmer weather for everyone!

  7. The Kiss of Deception sounds really good! A runaway princess, a jilted prince and an assassin… Wow. Happy reading! 🙂

    1. Doesn’t it!! I’m very excited to check it out. Thanks!

  8. We have had such good weather this week only to have snow in our forecast tonight. Ugh! Enjoy your new books.

Jenea @ Books Live Forever’s Sunday Post

    1. Yuck, hopefully it warms up for you soon, too!

  9. You did good! May you have another great productive week!

    Here is my post.

    1. Thank you (:

  10. Your weather sounds like ours in Minnesota. I think we might be skipping Spring this year. Dark Metropolis does sound amazing. I just caved and added it to my review stack too. Come see what I got at Ms. Martin Teaches Media and Inside of a Dog. Happy reading!

    1. I hope we don’t skip spring ): Or only if you get an early summer, haha. Too many good books right! Hope you enjoy it too!

  11. Our weather is flip-flopping around. 68 one day and -15 the next. We are expecting snow tomorrow and Spring is officially here. I am loving your haul, and need to dig out book one from Jennifer P. Have a fantastic week!

    1. It got colder here after it was officially spring, mother nature has her seasons backward, I think! Hopefully it gets warm for all of us soon!
Yes, definitely check out Searching for Someday! It’s a fun read (:

  12. I can’t wait to read my copy of Dark Metropolis! I am in love with the cover! And The Kiss Of Deception! It’s on my want list!!! Happy Reading! Here’s my STS if you’d like to stop by.

    1. Definitely excited to check both out! Hope you enjoy Dark Metropolis, too!

  13. Ooo, yay for Dark Metropolis and The Kiss of Deception! I have ARCs of those two, but I have not read them yet. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!

    1. Thanks! I hope you enjoy them both too! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on them (:

  14. Great haul. I got The Kiss of Deception this week too and can’t wait to start it, seriously it looks incredible! I hope you enjoy your books 🙂 My STS.

    1. Yay! Hope we both love it! It sounds pretty darn interesting does’t it! Thanks (:

  15. Both Dark Metropolis and Kiss of Deception look interesting (think they on my list already) 🙂 Great haul! 😉

    1. Thanks! I’m very excited for both (: Hope you get to read them soon, too!

  16. Boo for the super cold weather that you are having!

    1. Boo, indeed!

  17. Hah. “Something by Cyn”. That sounds like the best book ever. 😉

    1. You betcha 😉 Man, if I did write a book, it would be Something. Ha.

  18. THE LOVE TRIANGLE IN KISS OF DECEPTION ISN’T BAD?!?!? This makes my day! I’ve been pretty worried about that, but the book sounds too good to pass up even if there’s a love triangle. 🙂

And -20?? Geez, that’s cold. It gets in the 20s here and we’re all dying (but I live in Mississippi, so…) I hope it warms up for you soon!

    1. That’s the rumours!!! Let’s hope it’s true, because that would seriously make day, too. I know what you mean!

Haha, we’re pretty use to the coldness, but it still sucks especially when it “officially spring” and still not spring weather :p

  19. Gorgeous reads, Cyn! I want to read 3 out of 4 🙂 Hope your weather gets warm soon, or at least above zero, and have a lovely holidays!

  20. I always love your Next Week plans, because I always see a ?!! and dude – that’s totally how I feel sometimes. 😀

Enjoy your lovely, lovely books – we’re going to have to swap notes on Dark Metropolis!
