Sunday Post (80) / Stacking the Shelves (60)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Ahoy!

Oh my, it’s already September and back to school! I’ve just spend the last week doing orientation and all the welcome (back) to school activities (which were pretty fun). Classes official start on Monday and I’m a little scared (we already have 4 chapters to read, *sigh)!

So with school back up again, expect slower replies/comments and probably posts to since school trumps blogging unfortunately. I’m not ready for autumn yet, bring back my summer, please! Hope everyone has a lovely September!

STSmall_thumb25255B225255DStacking the Shelves post! Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, Stacking the Shelves is a chance to showcase new books, ones checked out from the library, bought, won or received for review.

Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
In a Sunburned Country by Bill Bryson
Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie

I just moved, and while I couldn’t really justifying bring a lot of books with me, I do have a new empty bookshelf that needs filling (that’s as good of an excuse to buy books as any right?)! My awesome friend did leave me some awesome books that she wants me to read though, so I wouldn’t be book-less, until I got some more (; I’m really looking forward to checking out In a Sunburned Country and more Agatha Christie!

  4. Enjoy reading and filling your shelves – you musn’t leave them so empty, it would be a crime 😉 Have a great week !

  5. Ohh an empty bookshelf! That looks promising, hope you fill it with lots of great books.

I want to read Miss Peregrine sometime, I just love that spooky cover! And it sounds like such a creepy read too. And the Agatha Christie too, I just love her books.

  6. Murder on the Orient express is one i really want to read, and just haven’t. One of these days soon… I’m missing the longer summer days too, while i like autumn, I don’t like it getting dark earlier!

    Have a great week.

  7. I know how you feel about school. I’m still wondering why I can read three hundred page novel, but can’t read a ten page article *sigh* but i do hope you’ll enjoy it, Cyn.

  8. Yep! It’s back to reality. I hope school doesn’t take over too much 🙂

  9. Totally a good excuse to buy more books. 😉 Yay for filling up shelves! I really want to read The 5th Wave. Preferably before the movie comes out too, and isn’t the sequel coming out really really soon? Eeep! Best get onto that. Good luck with all the busyness of starting school!!

  10. An empty bookcase! Just think of all the possibilities! I have that same copy of The Mysterious Affair at Styles! It’s a good one and Murder on the Orient Express is one of my favorite Poirots. Hopefully you’ll get some time for non-school reading soon! Have a great week!

  13. I borrowed Riggs’ book once from the library… never had a chance to read it though. I will have to put another hold on it and give it a shot. I’ve heard mixed things about it but it seems like it’d be a good read for Halloween.
