Sunday Post (89) / Stacking the Shelves (69)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Ahoy!

Cyn here, miss me guys? haha. (Probably not, since Kim and Jackie are doing such an awesome job of keeping the blog running.)

School unfortunately has been eating up a lot of time so definitely less time for reading and blogging ): Good news is I am enjoying school even though it’s a bit overwhelming! I have made some time for a few new tv shows… is anyone watching Jane the Virgin? I find it so hilarious!

The weather has been fortunately suuuuuuuper nice here (for Oct/Nov). Usually we’re already 2 feet of snow and – 20C, but we just got a light dusting yesterday. Totally loving it. Anyway, hope everyone is doing well!

 BOOK HAUL

STSmall_thumb25255B225255DStacking the Shelves post! Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, Stacking the Shelves is a chance to showcase new books, ones checked out from the library, bought, won or received for review.

I’ve been collecting some books over the last two months!

Got these at the beginning of September! Amazingly, managed to have read both! Reviews for both are on the blog!

Finally picked up Across a Star-swept Sea and Split Second so I could complete my collection (even though I haven’t read the first books yet, sssh.) And The Burning Sky! Because I heard it was pretty good and I love the cover.

Ended up picking this one up recently because well it sounds epic, and it was on sale, and I finally got around to reading Legend and I liked it, so why not right?!

A Darker Shade final for IreneThis one is actually just the preview, but whateves, so excited. Thanks Tor and Netgalley

  1. Snow? In October? The very idea of that makes me want to cry. Glad the weather has been treating you well instead! Your book haul was fabulous this week! Have a great week!

    1. It was actually a nice surprise that we didn’t get snow until Nov this year! Thanks, hope you have an awesome week, too!

  2. I really want to try The Young Elites! It looks AWESOME although I wasn’t a fan of Legend. >.> But I like to think authors don’t always keep the same styles (although I didn’t like Matched and I tried Ally Condie’s new book Atlantia and still…meh. But I guess sometimes a person just doesn’t click with an author?!) ANYWAY. I’m super keen for The Young Elites. Also Heir of Fire! AFJDKLFSAD I have sooo many feels for that book it’s exhausting just to think about.

    1. i think The Young Elite definitely sounds more high fantasy, hopefully it’s awesome for both of us! It sounds pretty cool, haha. I think I might skip Atlantia – though apparently it’s not about mermaids? .. Matched was just okay for me).
That whole series (Throne of Glass) is exhaustingly full of feels lol

  3. Wow, you’re getting A Darker Shade of Magic soon? I’m so envious! Enjoy reading that one and the rest of your haul! 🙂 I’m also on the final stretch of this semester and my time will probably not be my own for the next month. But let’s still have a great week ahead! 🙂

    Here’s my Sunday Post

    1. Definitely excited to check it out!
Yay, good luck with school, hopefully you’ll find some time for reading 😉

  4. You’ll get a break from school soon, right, because of the holidays?! I’ve been really busy lately as well and am looking forward to a bit of a slow down.

    1. Yes! In about a month! But it’ll be a busy one, haha. Break time will definitely be nice! Hope you have an awesome week!

  5. I’ve missed you so shhh. 😉 I won Isla in a giveaway but still have to get Lola and of course I freaking loved Heir of Fire, and still need to pick up a copy of The Young Elites, keep forgetting. >:( Glad schools going good, even if you’re super busy, and ha, good weather, it’s been raining non-stop here, I think todays the only time this week it hasn’t rained, so far anyway. I bet I just jinxed it.

    1. Awww. The Stephanie Perkins books are perfect when you need cute contemporaries! I’m still trying to find some time to read The Young Elites! Yuck, rain, hope the sun comes out for you soon!

  6. I’m not ready for snow myself but it is sounding like there is a good possibility that we will see it in the near future. I usually love snow but I just don’t know that I am ready for it yet this year. You have added a bunch of books to your shelves that I have on my TBR list as well. I hope you enjoy them! Have a great week of reading 🙂

    1. The snow has arrived here and it’s here to stay ): That’s the same with me! I like snow but I’m never ready for it, haha. Thanks! Hope you have an awesome week (:

  7. OMG I HAVE READ LIKE ALL OF YOUR NEW BOOKS! I loved The Young Elites, Split Second, The Burning Sky, Across A Star-Swept Sea, Heir of Fire… okay, I have not read any of Perkins’ books. I did see that sampler request on NetGalley, for Schwab’s next book! I might get it. Might 😀 I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a fabulous week 🙂

    1. Yaay! I’ve had Pivot Point on my TBR for so long, but since I’ve picked up the last book, hopefully I’ll read it soon, haha. I’m super excited for Schwab’s new book! The full thing is on Edelweiss I think, haha. Thanks!

  8. I hope your schooling is going well, to bad you don’ have time to read as much. You got some really great books! 🙂
