Weekly Wrap Up (01)

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-up with Bookmunchies. This is our weekly update that combines Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer‘s SUNDAY POST and Tynga’s Reviews‘ STACKING THE SHELVES. This is a post to share news, to recap the week on the blog, share new reads and new books, and upcoming fun for the week ahead!

Ahoy all, Cyn here! Welcome to March! So I finally got around to sort of redesigning our Sunday Post/Stacking the Shelves meme post. It still has a lot of the same old, but I like the banner and look, hope you guys do to (:

I’ve still been working on the Uke thing and I almost can play/sing La Vie en Rose (like in How I Met Your Mother! but a lot worse) but man is it hard to play and sing at the same time, haha. And I finished watching Santa Clarita Diet! It was so good and hilarious but I really really need season two ASAP! I’m on to Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency which is hella weird (but good!).

✖ Teaser Tuesday: The Summer After You and Me

Here at Bookmunchies we believe in being surprises for the week

  1. Like the new banner look! And I’ve been curious about the Santa Clarita Diet- i keep seeing that pop up.

    Ooh Windwitch!

  2. I love the new banner!
I’m curious about Devil in Spring! I’ve read Lots of recommendations about this book.
I hope you guys are having a great week. 😀

  3. The blog looks great, Cyn. I seriously need to watch Santa Clarita Diet! Everyone is loving it.

  4. Your banner looks great. Have a fantastic bookish week!

  5. I like the new banner 🙂 I really want to watch Santa Clarita Diet it looks so funny. That cover for The Traitors Kiss is stunning.

  6. Your blog looks lovely guys! Keep up the good work. I’ve never heard of Santa Clarita Diet, but I have heard of the Dirk Gentley’s series. Not that I’ve watched or read it… Hope you have fun with it.

Happy reading, have a good week and here’s my Sunday Post: http://marelithalkink.blogspot.co.za/2017/03/the-sunday-post-headlines-and-failure_5.html

  7. Love the look! I don’t think I could master playing anything like the Uke. I tried guitar once but it just was a disaster. And to sing while I did it?! Hahahaha! I can’t even do that on Guitar Hero! So, good luck to you! Anything you do will be a million times better than if I attempted it so go on with your bad self!

  8. Good luck on the uke 🙂 it’s a fun instrument. I should really fix my guitar (need to change strings and string holder) and get back to strumming it every now and then.

  9. Ooh, I like the banner! Ukulele is a really fun instrument to learn, but I know exactly what you mean about strumming and playing at the same time– I’m studying music in university, and I STILL can’t do it sometimes, haha. I’m happy to see you liked Hunted, because I’m really looking forward to that one. Yay for Windwitch and Wires and Nerve!

  10. I also (last minute) redesigned my Sunday Post! I love the new header. I think, though, I am letting mine grow longer and longer and I’m not sure that’s what I want. I still need to work on that. Singing while playing must take a lot of brainpower. I tried learning the guitar; I got half of the Star Spangled Banner mastered before my lessons (given by my younger cousin) ended. It is hard! Good luck with continuing to play and improve. I’m debating about reading Valerie Bowman’s book. I’m really trying to clean up my NetGalley, but…I know I would like it. #dilemmas

  11. Enjoy all of your new books! I like the new banner a lot. That is great that you have learned so much in such a short time on the ukelele. Have a great week!

  12. I tried to learn the uke since so many of my fellow librarians use it in their programs, but I simply am not talented enough to remember which strings to pull/press while also singing and making eye contact with small children!! 😉

  13. I’ve always admired people that can play an instrument and sing at the same time! It’s pretty incredible. One or both of those things has to be so second nature!

I really want to try that Dennard series – I can’t believe that I haven’t managed to yet! I’ll get there!

Hope you have a great week.

  14. Ack, I’m dying to get my hands on Traitor to the Throne! I was so disappointed, because I thought it was coming out in January. =( I’m not sure if I got the date wrong or they pushed it back, but I can’t wait to read it!
I’m intrigued by ‘Windfall’ also. And a Firefight review? Gotta check that out. ^_^

What, procrastinate? You mean I’m not the only one who does that? XD

  15. I wanted to like Santa Clarita diet more, but I did enjoy it overall. I think I just got caught up too much in the hype. Also looks like you had a good reading week and nice haul. Hope the coming week is good to ya! 😀

  16. Hey Cyn! I loved Santa Clarita Diet too. Hopefully it won’t take TOO long for a second season. I’m curious about Dirk Gentley – glad you are enjoying that one too. 🙂

  17. I hope you fare better with Windwitch than I did, I just found it to be a bit disappointing, or slow. I love that beautiful cover of Traitor’s Kiss! Have a lovely week ahead.

  18. It looks like you had a fantastic week! I’m really excited about The Traitor’s Kiss. I hope it’s as good as the lovely cover.
