Weekly Wrap Up (21)

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-up with Bookmunchies. This is our weekly update that combines Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer‘s SUNDAY POST and Tynga’s Reviews‘ STACKING THE SHELVES. This is a post to share news, to recap the week on the blog, share new reads and new books, and upcoming fun for the week ahead!

Hey guys, Jackie here,

Is it just me or is this summer flying right by? I feel like I haven’t done anything this summer other than just work, stay home because the weather is too stupid hot to go anywhere (even to the beach), read, knit, and repeat. A vacation to somewhere like…I don’t know…Florida sounds nice right now. Or maybe even New York. There’s just so many places I want to go but it’s really hard not to spend money on anything except for the bare necessities (I bet you’re totally singing the song, right?). Anyways, work wasn’t too bad this week. It went by pretty fast surprisingly. My coworker convinced me to go to the employee appreciation picnic with her and some of my other coworkers, so I ended up going and it was pretty fun.

  1. I hear ya. It was rain for the most part until this month. Now it’s boiling and steaming. I do enjoy the pool and it’s okay for sitting outside to read in the mornings. I’m right by the Florida line on the coast and it’s just as hot there. LOL Try to stay cool:)

    1. Your weather sounds so fickle minded, but I’m glad you’re keeping cool in the pool.

  2. I am glad you enjoyed your company’s picnic it sounds fun. I know the summer is flying in, it feels like this year is flying in in general. Have a good week.

  3. I know how you feel about this summer.Work and avoid the heat, work and avoid the heat. Ugh. Although I had to chuckle at you thoughts of escaping to Florida. Sure, come on down… you can swelter with the rest of us. LOL I did take off a week in late April/early May but that already seems like forever ago. Hope you have a great week, Jackie!

    1. Ahaha no thanks. I was hoping Florida would be much cooler than SoCal, but I guess not. Maybe I’ll escape to Alaska instead.

  4. It’s been hot here, too. I haven’t even been super-motivated to swim at the Y. Crazy, right?!

  5. I know how you feel, I haven’t done anything for the summer yet either. I just work and come home hehe I definitely need to change that soon.

  6. This summer has went by really fast. My kids go back to school in just a couple of weeks already. It’s been such a boring summer for us too. We need a vacation. lol… Have a great week. 🙂

    1. Oh wow! I hope your kids are excited for school.

  7. It is so humid and hot here its miserable. But I agree-summer seems to be flying by too fast! I have to start thinking about work again soon and I am not ready!
    Have a great week!

    1. Ugh humid! We’ve been having on and off humidity throughout this summer. Good luck with work!

  8. The summer is flying by! We start school a little later where I live, after Labor Day, so there are still many weeks left but it is hard to believe we are almost to August. We haven’t done a thing besides swimming in our own pool. Anyways, I really want to check out More of Me. Sounds good! Have a great week!

  9. Me too! Or rather, me neither. Just been working this summer, and we haven’t even been having decent weather so far. Meh! At least you have it hot, we just have it like black sky, wind and rain, too cold to go out dressed in anything less than an autumn coat! It’s ridiculous. Grr. Yesterday was like the first sunny day at all.

  10. Time is certainly flying by! I’m sorry about the heat though. It sounds overbearing. I hope that you will get some relief soon – or a vacation! Whichever comes first. 😉

    Have a wonderful week
And Bare Necessities is now stuck in my head! 😉

  11. Summer really has been flying back! It’s already been two months since I graduated from uni which is… crazy. I feel like college was so far away and yet it was just yesterday. Time really flies!

Have a great week, Jackie! =)

  12. I am glad the summer is going fast, because it is hot, humid, and oppressive in these parts. Glad you had fun at the picnic.

  13. Summer is coming to an end WAY too soon. I haven’t done half the tasks I kept repeating to myself all spring I needed to do. Like, how? Where did all my time go!? I am so on the same train with you about bare necessities. I set up my bullet journal with a spending tracker for each week of August. I think if I’m consciously tracking my spending, it will make me cut out some things (kind of like how people track their food in a food log). I want to get my credit cards paid off and start putting extra $$ to my car and loans. *sigh* Life. I’m glad you went to the employee picnic and had fun! Since my workplace is so political and cliquish, I didn’t go to the “Christmas” parties (at bars). Hope you have a good week and stay cool!

  14. Ugh, I feel ya on the heat. And I’m in NH – no right to complain but sheesh, the humidity has been killer. Give us a couple months, though, and we’ll all be complaining about the snow!

All that aside, though, I hope you have a lovely week and you get a couple perfect, not=busy days! <3

  15. I have been wondering about that book Nyxia. I am intrigued after seeing that you gave it five stars. Every year I keep saying that I am going to save enough money to go to the shore, but I spend too much on books. Ha ha. I hope you are having a wonderful week. 🙂
